Which Middle Infielders Have Stood Out This Preseason?
January 15, 2026
The ‘Hotlist’ is a series that provides weekly insight into the high school baseball scene spanning the country, curated by Prep Baseball’s state directors who are situated nationwide, with vital intel on the prospects who are in their own backyards. Each week, we’ll publish our ‘Hotlist’ on varying topics that are timeliest to the national baseball calendar at that point in time.
This week’s topic: With Preseason IDs underway across the country, we’re highlighting prospects who have stood out early and are worth following into the spring. Please submit a middle infield prospect (or a few) from your state who impressed at a recent Preseason ID. If your preseason events have not yet started, feel free to include a player you’re looking forward to seeing this preseason. Include where you saw them, what stood out from the event, and why they’re a player to watch as the spring season approaches.

♨️ The ‘Hotlist’ (1/16):
Alabama
+ Brody Blevins, SS (Westbrook Christian HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:

“SS Brody Blevins (Westbrook Christian, 2027) continues to trend upward as one of the more athletic, high-upside infielders in attendance, with noticeable strength gains on display throughout the Birmingham Preseason ID. A multi-year varsity contributor, the sophomore delivered the event’s loudest BP round, posting a 100.3 mph max exit velocity and producing repeated hard contact to all fields. At the plate, he employs an early load and controlled leg kick, getting the barrel on plane early and rotating with intent through contact. His athleticism also showed up in the testing portion, turning in a 3.83-second 30-yard dash. Blevins remains a strong uncommitted follow in Alabama’s 2027 class heading into the spring.”
– David Sharp, Deep South Supervisor
California
+ Ajay Sahi, SS (Livermore High School HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:

“Very projectable body, still very raw. Has tools to work with, with added strength, could be a potential middle of the order guy. Has put on 15 lbs since summer. The speed will come down the road.”
+ Drew Asadorian, 3B/OF (Acalanes High School HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Drew has been flying under the radar. He went to an ID in the Fall and was very impressive. He's an athletic infielder who can really swing it from the left side. Above average bat to ball skills, with pull side power. Ran a 6.8 and sprayed the ball line to line in BP.”
– Hank LoForte, NorCal Scouting Director
+ Ethan Miller, SS (Centennial (Corona) HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“The former Jr. Future Gamer continues to elevate his game on both sides of the ball making him one of the premier middle infielders in his class in California. He's added strength to the frame that shows itself at the plate where bloopers have now become line drives. At the San Diego Preseason All-State Miller put on a show during BP and the defensive workout portion of the event. With quick feet, quicker hands, and an 81 mph infield velo, Miller carried that over into the game where he smoked a ball that one hopped the left field fence. The ball was hit so hard that he was unable to extend it to a double without the very real risk of being thrown out. Defensively, the improvements he's made physically really stand out as he is more controlled, quicker to the ball, and playing with a lot more confidence than we saw at the CA State Games last summer. Always an instinctive player, Miller's ceiling has elevated as has the floor of his potential. With room to continue to add strength to his frame, Miller is a middle infielder that will make a strong push to be a part of Team SoCal at the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games. ”
– Les Lukach, State Scouting Director
Canada
+ Nathan De Palma, SS (Fieldhouse Pirates HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“Nathan De Palma is the 2nd-ranked shortstop in Ontario's 2028 class and will be one of the top underclass middle infielders we see during our preseason swing. The overall profile stands out as a left-handed hitting shortstop with projection at 6-foot, 145-pounds and De Palma fits the mould of a prospect who should garner plenty of college attention as he continues to grow and mature over the next several years.”
– Cam Black-Araujo, Assistant Director
Florida
+ Gabriel Coupet, SS (North Broward Prep HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“Coupet was a standout at the South Florida Preseason ID in Boynton Beach. Led all of our Preseason ID events with a 6.35 60 yard-dash and drove the gaps at 96.6 mph exit velo.”
– Rocco Iervasi, Director of Operations
Georgia
+ Noah Harris , SS (Benedictine Military HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“We first saw Noah this time last year and the growth throughout his game has been impressive. The physicality standouts out with a chance to have a breakout sophomore year. ”
– Hudson Graham, Scouting Director
Indiana
+ Brayden Ring, SS (Zionsville HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:

“I am excited to see Brayden Ring, our top uncommitted 2027 position player and shortstop, after the offseason. He is an athletic, 6-foot, 175-pound shortstop that brings an array of above average tools to go along with a proven track record of contact ability and defensive reliability in our follows. He went into the offseason after battling injuries for most of 2025 that prevented him from showing his full skillset on a consistent basis. With that being said, I think this sets the stage for a breakout junior year and I'm excited to get eyes on him at one of our Preseason events. ”
– Cooper Trinkle, Indiana Scouting Director
Iowa
+ Will Nesler, SS/RHP (Ankeny Centennial HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:

“Will Nesler was an invitee to our Iowa State games this past August and then recently came to one of the Winter Hitting Updates. In the past 4 months he has improved his exit velocity by 3mph. Currently up to 95.6 and coming off a solid sophomore season where he hit .297 in 101 at bats. He has sneaky pop in a small compact frame. The bat path is clean with a line drive approach and consistently squaring baseballs up to the middle of the field. He is athletic in the field and moves well laterally. He can also cause havoc on the bases as he stole 12 of 14 bags last year and runs a 6.70 60.”
– Tyler Cropley, Scouting Director
Louisiana
+ Kannon Keiser, SS (Sam Houston HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“Don’t let the 5-foot-6, 160-pound frame fool you—Keiser is a true ballplayer who continues to trend upward every time we see him. The switch-hitting Sam Houston product turned in one of his best offensive showings at our Lake Charles Preseason ID, repeating a simple, efficient swing from both sides of the plate. He stayed compact and connected through contact, consistently producing hard line drives to both gaps.
Defensively is where Keiser truly separated himself. His arm strength continues to improve, now up to 84 mph across the diamond, but it’s his advanced infield instincts that stand out most. He shows a strong understanding of cutting angles to create favorable hops, pairs that with a clean glove-to-hand transfer, and delivers quick, accurate throws from multiple arm slots. Keiser can make every play in the infield, which drives his overall value.
Beyond the tools, every rep during the workout was taken with clear purpose and intent—a trait that consistently shows up and should not be overlooked.”
+ Kamber Keller, SS (Brother Martin HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“Our New Orleans Preseason ID, in early January, marked our first look at Keller in nearly two years, and he showed strides across the board. The Brother Martin product features a stocky 5-foot-9, 160-pound build and turned in one of the top infield defensive workouts at the event. He showed crisp, confident actions, receiving the baseball with soft hands out front and funneling it cleanly to his midline. His throws across the diamond were accurate with true backspin and carry, and he also demonstrated the ability to throw on the run.
Offensively, Keller was consistently on the barrel, showing a short, direct path to contact and a willingness to work the ball back through the middle with firm, line-drive contact.”
– Alex Armand, Scouting Director
Nebraska
+ Hank Vosik, SS/RHP (Creighton Prep HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“With a growing physical frame and budding athletic tools, Hank made a lot of noise in 2025 shooting up the state ranking inside the top 5. He is will be attending the Nebraska Preseason All State on March 1 at Iowa western and is a name College coaches should have circled twice as they build out their Follow lists.”
+ Markus Gorup, SS/RHP (Elkhorn South HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“Had arguably the best Freshman season on the field in the state of Nebraska last spring. Moved seamlessly across three infield positions while finishing the last half of 2025 hitting in the top 5 of the lineup. Markus continued that success through the Summer/Fall cricut and a appearance on team Nebraska at the Prep Baseball Midwest Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City. He will be attending the Preseason All State on March 1st and will start the spring as one of the top bats and must know names in Nebraska's 2028 class”
– Pascal Paul, Scouting Director
Oregon
+ Marcus Pollard, INF (Sunset HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“The 5th ranked prospect in Oregon's 2028 class will be in attendance at PNW Preseason All-State this winter. Pollard's smooth game up the middle helped contribute to Sunset High School's 6A state title in his freshman spring, and he has a chance to take another big leap heading into his sophomore season. The 6'0 lean-framed prospect features a sound, consistent lefthanded swing that may grow into more power as strength develops. Pollard will be a name to circle as one of the better middle INF's in Oregon this preseason.”
– Dylan Grenz, Associate Scout
Texas
+ Braylon Hubbard, SS (Duncanville HS, 2028) | Uncommitted :

“Great frame/build to add strength. Quick twitch, explosiveness to game. 6.82 60, plus runner. Actions developing on the infield, hands/feet work. Avg HS arm strength now, will continue to develop. Impacts baseball showing raw power, 104+ exit velo. Bat/hand speed present. Tools. Follow for 2028.”
– Max Semler, Texas Scouting Director
Washington
+ Lincoln Moore, INF (Kentlake HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:

“The top-ranked 2028 grad in Washington will be in attendance at PNW Preseason All-State in late February. The 6'2, 177 pound sophomore features high-end defensive actions at shortstop, paired with a 6.95 60-time and exit velocities up to 99.6 MPH from the right side. Moore's prowess at the national level is well-noted to this point, and the Kentlake product is currently ranked 25th nationally in Prep Baseball's 2028 player rankings. Moore put together multiple standout showings across 2025, including at PNW State Games and West Coast Super Sophomore Games, and he'll look to build on his already impressive resume this preseason.”
