Indoor TrackMan Hitting League: Official 4-Week Season

Powered By: Prep Baseball | Locations: On Deck Academy Academy, Charlotte, NC | Dates: Sundays - DEC 14, DEC 21, JAN 4, JAN 11

Event Overview

The Prep Baseball Indoor TrackMan Hitting League is a four-week competition designed to help players develop measurable, game-ready skills in a controlled indoor environment. Powered by TrackMan radar technology and the Hack Attack pitching machine, players will receive verified data and weekly reports that focus on quality contact, average exit velocity, and measurable improvement.

Each league operates with a structured weekly schedule and a focus on both competition and development. Players will train and compete in 5-player teams, using a scoring system that rewards consistency, solid swing decisions, and gains throughout the season.

League Structure

Duration: 4 Weeks (Regular Season)

  • Week 1 – Baseline: Establishing initial performance metrics
  • Week 2 – Consistency Check: Measuring repeatability and quality contact rate
  • Week 3 – The Gainer: Focusing on measurable improvement post-break
  • Week 4 – Championship: Team and individual winners determined

*Holiday Break: December 22, 2025 – January 2, 2026

Game Flow & Format

Each 5-player team will have a 60-minute session per week, split evenly between warm-up and competition.

  • Warm-Up Cage (30 Minutes): Dynamic stretching, tee work, and live machine prep. No data collected.
  • TrackMan Game Cage (30 Minutes): Competitive rounds where data is captured for scoring and development tracking.

Pitches per Player: Each player receives rounds of 9 pitches for scoring. Emphasis is placed on quality contact and decision-making, not volume.

League Administration

Prep Baseball will manage all league operations, including registration, payments, data collection, and weekly player reporting.

  • Registration: $300 per player – Team requests managed by Prep Baseball. Email [email protected]
  • Team Formation: Players may request to form 5-player teams or join as free agents to be placed on a roster.
  • Data & Reporting: Weekly reports include Quality Contact Exit Velocity (QC EV), Quality Contact %, and Progress Metrics.
  • Profile Integration: All TrackMan data and performance metrics are uploaded directly to each player’s Prep Baseball profile.

Scoring System

The league emphasizes Quality Contact — rewarding players for consistent, high-quality swings rather than sheer power or volume.

Defining “Quality Contact”

  • Exit Velocity (EV): Must approach or exceed each player’s baseline threshold (set during Week 1).
  • Launch Angle (LA): Must fall within the defined “sweet spot” range of 10°–30°.

Individual Player Scoring

Scores are based on performance during each 9-pitch round:

  • Quality Contact EV: Average EV of qualified hits × 2.0
  • Quality Contact %: Percentage of QC hits × 0.5
  • Average Distance Bonus: QC distance × 0.1

No penalty for whiffs — players are encouraged to make selective, high-quality swings.

Team Scoring

The team’s total is the sum of all five player scores for the session.

Progress Multiplier

Weekly improvements in QC EV are rewarded through a Progress Multiplier, incentivizing player development over the 4-week season. Significant gains can boost a player’s contribution to the team’s weekly score.

League Rewards

  • Winning Team (per location): Invited to the NC/SC Border Battle & Tobacco Road Games with discounted entry.
  • Overall Winning Team (across all sites): Receives a free Preseason ID workout credit for one position.
