With the summer behind us and the 2026 State Rankings being released at the end of August, we’re taking a look at some of the top uncommitted players within this update. Today, we are taking a look at the top 10 uncommitted infielders. This list is full of impact bats that are still looking for a home.

From 3/07/25: “INF Logan Nordentoft (Prospect, 2026) is an upside right-handed hitter with some power potential. He has a wiry and projectable frame, standing in at 6-foot-2, 172-pounds with plenty of room to add strength. At the plate, he showed easy strength and jump off the barrel, using his long levers to lift the ball with ease (T95 mph EV; 88 mph avg. EV). He’s an athletic defender on the infield with a soft glove, showing confident actions and body control on the move.” |

Soft hands to pair with athletic footwork, quality feel for the position with timing through the baseball, also a 6.81 runner with range to both sides of his glove. Sneaky jump off the barrel with a 101 mph peak EV in the workout, intentful and balanced swing that can drive it all over the yard.” |

Caden Kendall SS / RHP / Andrew, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 117 / POS: 22
From 4/29/25: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 74 in the state. Strong and sturdy 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with present strength throughout. Batted fifth and played shortstop for Andrew. Defensively, he is a reliable glove up the middle, while showing a well above-average arm for the position that can make any throw from across the diamond. A right-handed hitter, he was on the barrel a couple times, while tallying a single in the game. He has a simple setup at the dish with minimal pre-pitch movement, while swinging with an uphill path paired with strong hands. Also known for his two-way abilities on the mound, Kendall is an uncommitted prospect to continue to follow this spring.” |

From 6/10/25: “Uncommitted. Stands in at a lean and athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame with room for additional strength. Came up big for SHG in the 6th, bringing in the go-ahead run. At the plate, tall and narrow stance, little movement pre-stride, features a toe-tap trigger. Simple swing that works direct to the ball, slightly uphill path, tallied two hits on the weekend. Defensively, quality actions with a confidence glove and accurate arm across the diamond. Uncommitted name to follow.” |

From 8/05/25: “INF Lou Ratcliffe (Lyons Township, 2026) posted one of the top BP rounds during Tuesday’s workout. The right-handed hitter collected six 96-plus mph exit velocities with his top coming in at 103.3 mph. Strong 5-foot-10, 178-pound frame. Ratcliffe operates from a wide base with a small leg lift. Has a pure swing that is quick through the zone with pull-side power. Ratcliffe also posted a 6.77 60 time. Ratcliffe is another 2026 name that has versatility defensively and will be an interesting name to keep an eye on.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ INF/OF Zach Rubin (Antioch, 2026) should be a name to follow from the event. He was a consistent performer in gameplay, finishing 2-for-6 with a double, run scored and two walks. Consistently attacked pitches in the zone while staying on time, sent 88 mph right back up the middle for a loud single. Athletic hands with a fluid path that creates length out front. 6.80 runner to pair.” |

He has a smooth and balanced swing with some uphill intent through the zone, resulting in a pull-side home run in the first game. He’s a smooth defender on the dirt with the actions to stay on the infield at the next level.” |

Jackson Mansker 3B / RHP / Lincoln-Way West, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 178 / POS: 16
From 5/16/25: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 117 in the state’s junior class. Projectable 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame with strength present throughout. Mansker got the start at third base and batted in the four-hole. Balanced slightly crouched setup, quiet hands, longer stride, working into a level path, looking to elevate the ball. Displayed some loud swings in the matchup, sending a one-run double to the right-center gap and adding a deep flyout to center later in the game. An uncommitted junior name to follow in Illinois.” |
