Texas State Games Upperclass: Outfielder Analysis

On Saturday, September 19th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX, to host the Texas State Games: Upperclass, an invite-only event for the class of 2026 and 2027.
More than 100 players made their way to Weatherford College this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout as well as gameplay, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, while receiving in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every outfielder in attendance as well as rank the top 10 from the event.
TOP OUTFIELD PROSPECTS
1. Tyler King, Liberty Christian School (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/CF great build/frame to add strength. WAA runner with quickness/acceleration present. Moves easily to baseball in OF, range present. Project solid bat/power combo in future. Athleticism present to make adjustments. Projectable body, athlete with speed, can play defense, bat speed present. Upside.
Body: 6-3, 191 pounds. Great build/frame to add strength in future.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, works well, nice job of using lower 1/2. Hits into firm front leg and stride foot. Body lays back at contact point. Barrel/hands in good launch position with late wrist cock. Hands cast out slightly creating some length, front shoulder gets quick at times opening early. Work to take more direct path with hands to zone. Bat and hand speed present. 70.6 mph bat speed with 14g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 mph max exit velocity (92.1 avg.); 373-foot max batted distance. Solid bat/power combo in future. Opportunities for adjustments present. Bat/hand speed present. Will hit.
Arm: RH. OF - 92 mph. Arm works well with carry to throws. Accuracy below avg with throws working up line, can firm.
Defense: Moves easily to baseball, breaks down well to field with solid glove to hand exchange. Abv avg range present.
Athletic Testing: 6.49 runner in the 60-yard dash; 26.70-inch max vertical jump. Good start/acceleration. Solid stride length with foot speed present, good stride length.
