On October 5th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff hosted the Unsigned Senior Showcase at The Max in McCook, IL. 62 players participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Illinois staff.
Today, we will be looking at the prospects that stood out to our staff within this Quick Hits story.
Hitting
+ OF Tyler Toye (Hononegah, 2026) shined during the workout. The outfielder is listed with a 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has a balanced base with a high leg lift. He has a simple swing that is long through the zone with a gap-to-gap approach. Toye had a max exit velocity of 97.5 mph with a max distance of 346 feet. Defensively, he posted an outfield velocity of 84 mph.

+ OF Aidan Whildin (Kaneland, 2026) is a physical left-handed hitter that is listed with a 6-foot, 170-pound frame. The outfielder posted a 6.86 60-yd time and an 81 mph OF velocity during the first part of the showcase. The left-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small leg lift. A pure swing with a slight uphill bat path and pull-side power. Whildin posted an average exit velocity of 95.3 mph with a max EV of 98.4 mph and max distance of 306 feet. Whildin looks to be a name to keep an eye on the 2026 class.

+ OF Kamran Alikhan (Nazareth Academy, 2026) came into the event as one of the top uncommitted players in the 2026 class and showed why as he shined throughout the event. Currently ranked No. 86 in the state. Alikhan is listed with a strong 5-foot-11, 190-pound athletic frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a small stride. He has a compact swing that creates loft on impact with a pull-side approach. Alikhan had an average batted ball distance of 226 feet with a max of 397 feet. He also posted a max exit velocity of 101.6 mph. The senior showed serious bat speed as he posted an average of 77.8 mph with a max of 85.3 mph. Paprockas is listed with a strong 5-foot-10, 196-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has a balanced base with a small stride. Pure swing with a pull-side approach. He had a max batted ball distance of 345 mph with a max EV of 93.6 mph. The catcher also had an impressive 81.5 mph max bat speed.

The right-handed hitter operates from an open stance with an open stance. He has a swing that is quick through the zone with a gap-to-gap approach. Assink posted an average exit velocity of 90.7 mph with a max exit velocity of 96.7 mph, while also having a max distance of 292 feet. Gonzalez is listed with a strong 5-foot-9, 205-pound frame. He posted a max exit velocity of 95.7 mph with a max batted ball distance of 301 feet.
+ INF/OF Matthew Jenkins (Oak Park-River Forest, 2026) had one of the top all around performances as he shined in all aspects of the event. The senior is listed with an athletic 5-foot-11, 169-pound frame. The switch-hitter operates from a balanced base with a small stride. Pure swing with a line drive approach. Jenkins posted an average batted ball distance of 216 feet with a max of 335 feet. Defensively, Jenkins posted an outfield velocity of 89 mph and an infield velocity of 85 mph. He also ran a 6.66 60-yd dash.

+ Infielders Nehemiah Torres (Glenbrook South, 2026) and Hunter Feldkamp (Antioch, 2026) each had impressive showings at the plate. Torres is currently ranked No. 250 in the state. He posted a max exit velocity of 92.1 mph with a max distance of 317 feet. Felkamp is a physical bat that is listed with a strong 6-foot-1, 186-pound frame. He posted a max exit velocity of 99.3 mph with a max distance of 356 feet.
Two-Ways
+ OF/RHP Hayden Ralston (Galesburg, 2026) was one of the biggest winners of the event as he shined both at the plate and on the mound. Ralston is listed with an athletic 5-foot-10, 174-pound frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a small foot lift. Compact swing with a slight uphill bat path that creates loft on impact. He posted a max exit velocity of 99 mph with a max distance of 377 feet. Ralston posted an impressive average bat speed of 77.2 mph with a max hand speed of 24.2 mph.
