Unsigned Senior Showcase: Takeaways

On October 5th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff hosted the Unsigned Senior Showcase at The Max in McCook, IL. 62 players participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Illinois staff.

Today, we will be looking at the prospects that stood out to our staff within this Quick Hits story.

Hitting

+ OF Tyler Toye (Hononegah, 2026) shined during the workout. The outfielder is listed with a 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has a balanced base with a high leg lift. He has a simple swing that is long through the zone with a gap-to-gap approach. Toye had a max exit velocity of 97.5 mph with a max distance of 346 feet. Defensively, he posted an outfield velocity of 84 mph.

+ OF Aidan Whildin (Kaneland, 2026) is a physical left-handed hitter that is listed with a 6-foot, 170-pound frame. The outfielder posted a 6.86 60-yd time and an 81 mph OF velocity during the first part of the showcase. The left-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small leg lift. A pure swing with a slight uphill bat path and pull-side power. Whildin posted an average exit velocity of 95.3 mph with a max EV of 98.4 mph and max distance of 306 feet. Whildin looks to be a name to keep an eye on the 2026 class.

+ OF Kamran Alikhan (Nazareth Academy, 2026) came into the event as one of the top uncommitted players in the 2026 class and showed why as he shined throughout the event. Currently ranked No. 86 in the state. Alikhan is listed with a strong 5-foot-11, 190-pound athletic frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a small stride. He has a compact swing that creates loft on impact with a pull-side approach. Alikhan had an average batted ball distance of 226 feet with a max of 397 feet. He also posted a max exit velocity of 101.6 mph. The senior showed serious bat speed as he posted an average of 77.8 mph with a max of 85.3 mph. Defensively, Alikhan posted an impressive 90 mph outfield velocity.

+ INF Jonathan Tschanz (St. Viator, 2026) had one of the top all around performances of the workout. The infielder is listed with an athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has an upright stance with a small leg lift. Tschanz had an average batted ball distance of 212 feet with a max of 352 feet. He had a max exit velocity of 95.9 mph with a max bat speed of 74.9 mph. Defensively, Tschanz had an infield velocity of 86 mph and also ran a 6.86 60-yd dash.

+ C Quin Paprockas (Montini Catholic, 2026) had one of the top defensive performances as he posted a 1.94-2.01 pop time with a 78 mph catcher velocity. Paprockas is listed with a strong 5-foot-10, 196-pound frame. The right-handed hitter has a balanced base with a small stride. Pure swing with a pull-side approach. He had a max batted ball distance of 345 mph with a max EV of 93.6 mph. The catcher also had an impressive 81.5 mph max bat speed.

+ OF Austin Assink (Chicago Christian, 2026) showed well during the showcase as he had one of the top BP rounds. Assink is listed with an athletic 6-foot, 169-pound frame. The right-handed hitter operates from an open stance with an open stance. He has a swing that is quick through the zone with a gap-to-gap approach. Assink posted an average exit velocity of 90.7 mph with a max exit velocity of 96.7 mph, while also having a max distance of 292 feet. Assink started off the showcase posting an 83 mph outfield velocity and running a 6.85 60-yd dash.

+ Outfielders Andrew Robertson (Jacobs, 2026) and Matt Gonzalez (Marian Central Catholic, 2026) had impressive showings throughout the event. Robertson is listed with a strong 5-foot-10, 183-pound frame. He posted a max batted ball distance of 316 feet and also had an 84 mph outfield velocity. Gonzalez is listed with a strong 5-foot-9, 205-pound frame. He posted a max exit velocity of 95.7 mph with a max batted ball distance of 301 feet.

+ INF/OF Matthew Jenkins (Oak Park-River Forest, 2026) had one of the top all around performances as he shined in all aspects of the event. The senior is listed with an athletic 5-foot-11, 169-pound frame. The switch-hitter operates from a balanced base with a small stride. Pure swing with a line drive approach. Jenkins posted an average batted ball distance of 216 feet with a max of 335 feet. Defensively, Jenkins posted an outfield velocity of 89 mph and an infield velocity of 85 mph. He also ran a 6.66 60-yd dash.

+ Infielders Nehemiah Torres (Glenbrook South, 2026) and Hunter Feldkamp (Antioch, 2026) each had impressive showings at the plate. Torres is currently ranked No. 250 in the state. He posted a max exit velocity of 92.1 mph with a max distance of 317 feet. Felkamp is a physical bat that is listed with a strong 6-foot-1, 186-pound frame. He posted a max exit velocity of 99.3 mph with a max distance of 356 feet.

Two-Ways

+ OF/RHP Hayden Ralston (Galesburg, 2026) was one of the biggest winners of the event as he shined both at the plate and on the mound. Ralston is listed with an athletic 5-foot-10, 174-pound frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with a small foot lift. Compact swing with a slight uphill bat path that creates loft on impact. He posted a max exit velocity of 99 mph with a max distance of 377 feet. Ralston posted an impressive average bat speed of 77.2 mph with a max hand speed of 24.2 mph. Defensively, he had the top outfield velocity of 92 mph. On the mound, Ralston has a simple, uptempo delivery with a high leg lift with tuck. Short, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball and sinker both sat 84-86 mph with the fastball showing arm-side run. His changeup sat 79-82 mph while keeping it low. Ralston rounded out his pitch-mix with a curveball that sat 71-74 mph. Ralston is a name to keep an eye on in the 2026 class.

Pitching

+ LHP Griffin Arnold (Oak Park-River Forest, 2026) shined during his first Prep Baseball showcase as he gave an upside look. Arnold is listed with a wiry 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame with room to add strength. The left-hander operates from a stretch-only delivery with a tall/fall approach. Long, quick arm action from a low ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 81-83 mph with straight actions. Arnold also showed a curveball that sat 68-70 mph with an average horizontal movement of 10.8 inches.

+ RHP Max Dailey (Jacobs, 2026) is another arm that showed upside during his bullpen. Dauley is listed with a physical 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a stretch-only delivery with a tall/fall approach. Long, loose, clean arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 83-85 mph with sinking action. He mixed in a changeup that sat 76-79 mph while keeping it low. Dailey rounded out his three-pitch mix with a curveball that sat 71-73 mph with depth.

+ LHP Bryce Becker (Dixon, 2026) is another left-hander that impressed during his first Prep Baseball showcase. Becker is listed with an athletic 6-foot-2, 169-pound frame with room to add strength. The left-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Long, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 81-84 mph while topping out at 85 mph with an average spin rate of 2291 RPM. His changeup sat 72-75 mph while keeping it low. His slider sat 69-72 mph with late actions. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a curveball that sat 69-71 mph.

+ RHP Aiden Robles (Yorkville, 2026) is a name that continues to perform at a high level during our events. He is listed with an athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-hander operates from a simple delivery with a high leg lift while having a drop/drive approach. Long, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 84-86 mph with an average spin rate of 2639 RPM, maxing out at 2753 RPM. His changeup sat 73-77 mph with sinking action. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a curveball that sat 67-69 mph with depth. The pitch had an average horizontal movement of -16.1 inches and maxed out at -20.5 inches.

+ RHP Emmanuel Deoudes (IC Catholic Prep, 2026) showed athletic movements on the mound. He is listed with a 5-foot-9, 169-pound frame. The right-hander has a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift with tuck. Short, full arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 82-84 mph with arm-side run. He mixed in a splitter that sat 73-74 mph and killed spin. The pitch had an average spin rate of 714 RPM. Deoudes rounded out his pitch mix with a slider that sat 69-72 mph. The pitch had an average horizontal movement of -11.4 inches.

+ RHP AJ Laurencell (Lincoln-Way East, 2026) showed a quality three-pitch mix throughout his pen. He is listed with an athletic 6-foot, 168-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Short, quick arm action from a low ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 82-84 mph with straight actions. He mixed in a changeup that sat 74-76 mph while keeping it low. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a curveball that sat 71-72 mph with depth.
