Quick Hitters: Fayetteville Fall ID Pitchers

Prep Baseball North Carolina hosted the Fall Fayetteville ID on October 14th at Trojan Field in Fayetteville, NC, featuring standout talent from the 2026–2029 graduating classes. Widely regarded as one of the premier fall events on the Prep Baseball schedule.

The day opened with an defensive workout, were players moved into a defensive workout at their primary positions, giving coaches and scouts a closer look at each athlete’s athleticism, movements, and arm strength, along with athletic testing while testing there 10/30/60 yard splts, jump heights, and grip strengths. Following the defensive and athletic testing position players took live batting practice on the field. Utilizing TrackMan and Blast Motion technology, players were evaluated on both pre-swing metrics and ball-flight analytics. The event concluded with pitcher bullpens, enhanced by the utilization of TrackMan's pitch metrics and slow-motion video.

QUICK HITTERS - PITCHER NOTES

COREY COX SS / RHP / Gray's Creek, NC / 2029

Long arm swing wraps the body a bit.  Reach in the back. Fights a bit through a high-3/4 slot.  Flashes good arm quickness.
FB: T78, 72-77 mph. Solid ride.  Showed arm side feel.  Elevated at times.  T1991, 1841 average rpm.
CB: 58-59 mph. 10/4 tilt.  Solid action working a bit out of the hand.  T2221, 2164 average rpm.
SL: 60-61 mph. T2076, 1993 average rpm.

Jack Catron C / RHP / Homeschool (NC), NC / 2028

Short arm action. Scap loads. Over-the-top. Average to above arm speed.
FB: T79, 77-78 mph. Works to get ride. Some arm side out of the hand. Attacks with elevated plan. T2026, 1927 average rpm.
CB: 72-73 mph. Spikes the grip. Working to create downer action. Still maturing but has promise. T2159, 2155 average rpm.
CH: 73-74 mph. Run out of the hand. Some fade late. Solid arm speed T1486, 1366 average rpm.

Liam Mitchell LHP / 1B / Wake Forest, NC / 2028

Short arm swing. Scapular load. Athletic into the slot.  High-3/4.  Arm strength with solid arm speed
FB: T84, 80-83 mph. Down zone. Solid arm speed. Attacks and drives the ball through the zone.  T2129, 1976 average rpm.
SL: 62-64 mph. Sweeps the zone.  Lower slot vs. the fastball.  Action out of the hand.  Average arm speed. T1807, 1746 average rpm.
CH: 68-70 mph. Similar release to the fastball. Average arm speed. Fades when right. T1468, 1361 average rpm.
