On Sunday, October 5th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff hosted the Unsigned Senior Showcase at The Max in McCook, IL. This event has consistently acted as a great opportunity for uncommitted seniors to get in front of a number of schools as the fall is winding down. There are numerous commits from the event each year - including a handful already from this year’s event.

Today, we are continuing our post-event rollout with a look at every single outfielder from the day, along with a Top-5 ranking of who our staff thought showed the best on the day.

Austin Assink (Chicago Christian), Andrew Robertson (Jacobs), and Nicholas Rodriguez (South Elgin) are a trio of names worth mentioning from the day.

Assink showed an athletic swing from the right side, pairing with above-average speed in the 60 (6.85). Listed at 6-foot, 168-pounds, he has a trim build that still holds room to add more strength in the coming years.

Robertson looks to have some present physicality in his 5-foot-10, 183-pound frame, and he has the strength in the bat to match with an 89 mph average EV throughout his round with a peak EV of 93 mph.

Rodriguez showed some impressive tools on the day, starting with a 6.91 in the 60. He also showed an easy and repeatable right handed swing that was on the barrel throughout his round, peaking at 97 mph for his EV with a max distance of 365’.
