Scouting Report
6'0" 185 lbs. athletic frame with a strong lower-half. The former Jr. Future Gamer has been playing exceptionally well for the Eagles so far this season and that continued last Saturday against Catholic BR. Hitting out of the two-hole in this look, Jones drew a six-pitch walk in his first at-bat, before leading the bottom of the 3rd off with a ground-rule double to left-centerfield, which started a two run inning for Live Oak, after being down 5-2. Jones then worked a 2-0 count in his third at-bat and hit a line drive opposite-field single, and would come around to score on Brayden Allen's grand slam. He would finish the game 2-3 with 2 R and a BB. Jones also showed off his defensive tools and speed on a diving catch in the left-centerfield gap to rob Harrison Kidder of an extra-basehit. He's a talented player with tools to dream on, which is why he's a name that should be highlighted by college recruiters now that we are in the month of March.
Athletic 6'0" 180 lbs. frame with some room for more physicality as he matures. A former Jr. Future Gamer, Jones was another guy that impressed in Live Oak's 13-1 win over Barbe last Thursday night. He singled to the pull-side in his first at-bat, before laying down a perfect drag bunt for a hit in his second at-bat. Jones then hit an opposite-field 2 RBI double in his third at-bat to finish the night 3-4 with the 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, and 3 SB. He's a talented athlete with the speed to patrol centerfield and impact the game on the basepaths, which is why he's a good name to circle for college recruiters for the rest of this spring and into the summer.
