On Saturday, October 11th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Denton Ryan High School in Denton, TX, to host the DFW Freshman Free Showcase, an open event for the class of 2029.

More than 30 players made their way to Denton Ryan HS this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the event's biggest winners.

Max Martinez | RHP/SS | Midland Christian | 5’11” 125 | R/R

Lean/lanky build/frame. Repeats delivery, easy arm action. Look for velocity to increase as he adds strength and gains physical maturity. Shows feel for CB and change, both pitches flashing action. CB spin over 2300. Pure projection arm. Strike thrower.

Solid build/frame to add strength. Projects as plus runner in future, runs 7.07 now. Moves well on baseball field. Defensively will have ability to play all 3 OF spots. Projects to have solid bat/power combo in future, flashes impact of baseball now at times now.

Projects well physically. See as avg runner in future. Actions present on the infield, ability to stay in the middle on the dirt. Can impact baseball at times now. Will continue to develop.

Nice build/frame to add strength. Will be avg runner at least in future, chance to exceed to plus. Developing actions defensively. Arm strength will develop. Line drive contact showing ability to handle bat. Solid hit approach.

Bradyn Olson | 1B | Trinity | 6’1” 215

Thick build/frame, will add strength in future. Defensively will develop as corner guy, probably ends up at 1st long term. Showed ability to impact baseball leaving the ballpark to pull side. Hit baseball consistently hard.
