Illinois Prepsters in the MLB Postseason

The World Series is heading back to Toronto tomorrow for game six as the baseball season comes to a close. Illinois is represented on several rosters across the majors and is known as one of the top cold-weather states for producing major league talent. Arguably, the most important roster to make is your team's postseason roster. This year, four players from the Illinois high school ranks made playoff rosters.

Today, let's take a look at videos and notes from all four players during their high school and college days.

Jake Junis SS / RHP / Rock Falls, IL / 2011

From 2011: "Committed to North Carolina State University ... 29th round draft Arguably the best two-way player in the class, Junis possesses a bona fide bat with legitimate power. A top-level hitter. On the mound he features an 84-88 mph fastball and solid slider. ... Helped lead HS team to Class 3A runner-up finish as a freshman, going 5-1 with a 0.84 ERA. At the plate he hit .421 with 6 homers and 10 doubles. Top-level glove at shortstop, too."

Mason McCoy 2B / Washington, IL / 2013

From 6.13.17: "Drafted in the 6th round out of Iowa by the Baltimore Orioles. 

hit .564 with 6 homers, 12 doubles, 10 triples and 50 RBI for Washington as a junior."
