California State Games: 2026 Outfielder Analysis

Starting on July 30th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the California State Games at Fullerton College and High School in Fullerton, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-2029), and gave our staff an ample look at the state's top prospects.

Today, we will continue the release of the scouting reports from the event, now with the 2026 outfielders:

TOP 2026 OUTFIELDERS

1. Adam Whyte, Tustin (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: LHP/OF Projectable two-way lefty with great pop at the dish, flashing a 4-pitch mix on the mound.
Body: 5-11, 207-pounds. Firm, burly frame.
Hit: LHH. Balanced, even stance. Slight knee bend. Hands kept just above rear shoulder. Front foot slightly offset. Large toe-tap stride. Hands cast heavily during load. Hips rotate quickly. 71.2 mph bat speed with 20g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 mph max exit velocity (91 avg.); 331-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 80 mph. Low 3/4 arm slot. Short, dart-like release. Ball gets out quickly. Heavy ASR.
Defense: Long, even strides towards when fielding. Reads ball well with calculated movements.
Athletic Testing: 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash; 18.30-inch max vertical jump.
