CYPRESS, CALIF. - This past Sunday, October 12th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the SoCal Uncommitted Games at Cypress College in Cypress, Cal. This event was for high school classes (2026-2028), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top uncommitted prospects across these classes.

The 40 players in attendance began their day undergoing athletic testing utilizing VALD with a 60 yard sprint, while also measuring their athleticism via jump testing (max vertical and RSI tests). From there, the players participated in an on-field batting practice session with each hitter taking between 10-15 swings to gather Trackman Technology batted ball data and Blast Motion swing data. The workout concluded with defensive evaluations, including arm velocity readings. After the workout wrapped up, the players competed in a simulated game over nine full innings of play, allowing our staff plenty of game-like evaluations.

Today, we will take a dive into the top overall performers from both the workout and live gameplay at the SoCal Uncommitted Games.

TOP PERFORMERS

Eric Tani SS / RHP / Harvard-Westlake, CA / 2027

Tani delivered one of the most complete performances of the event, showing poise on both sides of the ball. A true switch-hitter, he flashed barrel accuracy and line-drive consistency from both sides, reaching a 95.6 mph max exit velocity with 22.3 mph max hand speed during BP. The swings mirror each other well, with a slightly more fluid look from the right side in game action. Tani carried that rhythm into gameplay, collecting a base hit from each side of the plate, showing an all-fields approach on both swings. On defense, he showcased smooth footwork and a strong, accurate 82 mph arm across the diamond. His two-way ability was on full display when he hopped on the mound and delivered a scoreless inning with three strikeouts, attacking hitters with confidence. The FB sat 81-83 mph with whiff in the zone and also showed off two strong secondaries (CB: 70-71, CH: 73-75) that he could both land for strikes. Overall, Tani impressed as one of the most well-rounded and projectable 2027 prospects from the event.

Logan Miller C / 3B / Mater Dei, CA / 2027

Miller, a strong 6-1, 191 lbs. catcher, immediately stood out with 1.92-2.00 pop times and a strong 77 mph arm that carried with accuracy and life to the bag during the workout. His defensive actions were clean and confident in-game, showing the ability to block and control balls in the dirt at a high level. Offensively, Miller flashed a 94 mph max exit velocity during BP, working with an uphill path geared toward line drives and fly balls. That translated directly into game action, where he barreled a line drive into LCF for a single and looked comfortable at the plate. He continued to impress between innings, posting as low as a 1.94 pop time, further confirming that he has the ability to stick behind the plate as a strong defensive backstop.

Xavier Horton 3B / 1B / Wiseburn DaVinci, CA / 2027

Horton put together one of the most impressive BP rounds of the event, consistently driving the baseball gap to gap on a line with minimal effort in his swing. His 91.8 mph max exit velocity only tells part of the story, as nearly every swing produced firm, controlled contact with intent. Using a simple toe-tap stride and a balanced setup, Horton’s approach carried seamlessly into gameplay, where he adjusted well to an off-speed pitch with two strikes, lining a single into center field. Defensively, he showed an 80 mph arm across the diamond as a corner INF profile. No matter where he settles defensively, Horton’s bat is going to carry the profile as he is trending in the right direction at the plate.

Max Adams SS / 2B / Carlsbad, CA / 2027

Making the trip up from San Diego, Adams really impressed and stood out in live gameplay, turning in a multi-hit performance that showcased both his bat-to-ball skills and athleticism. He muscled a base hit to right field in one at-bat and later squared up a line drive single in another, showing the ability to adjust and compete in different counts. His speed translated well in game, as he swiped third base with ease, mirroring his 6.98 60-yard dash from the workout. Offensively, Adams features a line-drive oriented swing that produced a 91.8 mph max exit velocity and 21.9 mph max hand speed during BP. Defensively, he profiles as a 2B/3B with an accurate 78 mph arm and steady infield actions. A key piece of Carlsbad’s strong 2027 core, Adams has clearly made significant strides in his overall game since the spring and looks primed to contribute in a big way again for the Lancers in 2026.

Silas Granados C / OF / Alta Loma High, CA / 2026

Granados showcased his athleticism and defensive polish throughout the event, posting 2.01–2.12 pop times with every throw right on the tag zone at second base. Behind the plate, he displayed quick feet, strong receiving skills, and mobility, handling the position with poise. Offensively, his swing looked noticeably more fluid in live action, where he barreled a line-drive double to right field. The swing is simple and balanced, featuring good hand separation in the load and a controlled toe-tap stride that helps him stay on time. With a wiry 5-10, 163-pound frame, Granados has room to add strength, and his overall athletic profile suggests he could transition to a corner outfield spot if needed. An overall productive day for the Alta Loma product.

Leland 'LA' Ingraham III OF / RHP / South High, CA / 2027

Ingraham's day started with a strong round of batting practice, consistently driving the ball to the right-center gap with intent. He maxed at 89.3 mph exit velocity, but his round stood out more for the consistent, well-struck contact and his ability to stay on plane through the zone. Working from a slightly closed setup, Ingraham maintains good direction toward the middle of the field, and his swing is designed to elevate the baseball with natural lift. That approach carried over into gameplay, where he lined a base hit to left for an RBI single. Defensively, he showed an 83 mph arm from the outfield, and his 5-9, 170-pound frame already carries noticeable strength and physicality. An intriguing well rounded profile to keep tabs on in the '27 class.

Jett Urbas SS / 3B / Westlake High, CA / 2027

Urbas immediately stands out with his physical 6-2, 198-pound frame that looks the part of a next-level infielder. He turned in a strong BP session, maxing at 91.8 mph exit velocity and averaging 89 mph, consistently making firm line-drive contact to all fields. The swing is controlled and on time, getting the foot down early and allowing him to adjust well in live at-bats, where he also picked up a base hit, adjusting on an off-speed pitch. Defensively, Urbas showed a strong and accurate 83 mph arm across the diamond, pairing well with his athletic movements and body control. The athleticism and body give a lot to like and to project with Urbas going forward as an uncommitted 2027 prospect.

Tre Camp SS / 2B / Santa Monica High, CA / 2027

Athletic middle infielder who posted a 7.13 60-yard dash and showed an accurate 80 mph arm across the diamond from SS. Offensively, Camp showcased a line-drive oriented approach with a 92.2 mph max exit velocity and 87.6 mph average, generating consistent barrel contact with short, efficient movements and a simple stride. His bat speed averaged 71.1 mph, peaking at 73.9 mph, and he carried that over into gameplay with a base hit to left field. Defensively, Camp looked steady and instinctual at shortstop, highlighted by a smooth play on a slow chopper, where he gathered quickly and delivered a strong, accurate throw. A well-rounded 2027 prospect with solid fundamentals and athletic projection.

Mac Taw 2B / OF / Loyola High School, CA / 2027

A versatile defender who showed well both in the infield (79 mph arm) and outfield (81 mph arm). At the plate, Taw turned in one of the more consistent BP rounds, posting a 92.7 mph max exit velocity with an 88.9 mph average and a max distance of 355'. That power translated seamlessly into gameplay, as he barreled one of the hardest-hit balls of the day, a double off the left-field wall. With a 6-1, 175-pound frame, Taw already shows present strength and athleticism, and there’s plenty of physical projection remaining that suggests even more power development to come.
