October 29, 2025
The Prep Baseball Indiana staff hosted our annual Indy Titans Scout Day on Sunday, October 26th, with over 100 prospects from the Titans organization given the opportunity to access our unrivaled data tracking technology within a pro-style workout. Several players showed well, with some young talent rising as names to know, along with a few uncommitted juniors/seniors showing positive development trends that should help in each of their respective recruiting proccesses.

Top Prospect List
*Listed in alphabetical order*
+ RHP/SS Abram Freeman, Brownsburg, 2029
In his first event of his high school career, Freeman left as a huge winner despite being one of the youngest prospects at the event. Holding athleticism in a younger looking, 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame, Freeman showed best on the bump, where he sat 81-84 with the heater and touched 86 on his best bullet. He flashed one of the better breaking balls we've seen of this young class, spinning it north of 2550 on average in the low-70s. He also showed a 75-77 mph CH that showed as a solid average pitch. The operation is clean and athletic, and he uses a short, compact arm swing that accelerates with advanced arm speed for the age. He also showed well on the position side, leading the day with an 86 mph infield arm before taking a solid round of batting practice, where he showed fast hands that produced upper-80s exits. A high follow for now, Freeman will be a priority follow for our staff as the class continues to advance.
‘29 P/SS Abram Freeman (@AbeFreeman2029) emerged as a must follow frosh.

+ 1B Cooper Harmon, Guerin Catholic, 2028
Harmon's best work was done in batting practice, taking some of my favorite hacks of the event despite being just a rising sophomore. There is clear strength in his 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame that translates directly to his left-handed barrel, leading the day with a peak exit velocity of 98.1 mph. He showed barrel feel with some repeatability in the swing to pair, gathering into a strong base with a small hand load and shorter leg lift stride, before attacking with an on-plane stroke.
‘28 1B Cooper Harmon (@CooperHarmon45) took one of the more impressive BP rounds of the day, regardless of class.

On the barrel for a good portion with a peak exit of 98.2 mph, averaging 87.1 throughout.

+ RHP Jackson Maifeld, Pendleton Heights, 2026
Maifeld left with the best fastball produced of the day, showing well as an uncommitted senior. Standing at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with some physical strength and room to pack on more, Maifeld sat 85-86 and touched 87 with a carry fastball working from an over-the-top slot. He mixed with an above average SL at 73-75 that he showed feel for. Filling the zone with a quality two-pitch mix, Maifeld elevates his stock with this look and is a solid option for schools still in need of depth on the mound in the 2026 class.

+ RHP Hayes Schluge, Bishop Chatard, 2028
I got a quick peek at Schluge this summer, and he continued to climb our board with an upside look in his 'pen at this event. The frame immediately checks boxes, 6-foot-3, 180-pounds with real length and some wiry strength to it. He pitched at 81-83 mph with above-moderate intent, getting down the mound well with the levers creating above average extension. Though inconsistent, he flashed a future swing-and-miss breaking ball that played with true sweep at 74-76 (2590 avg. spin). Cleared from injury just prior to this event, Schluge feels like a major helium candidate for 2026 that we will monitor closely.
‘28 Hayes Schluge (@hayesschluge) flashed a high ceiling look in his ‘pen & continues to look the part of a follow.

+ C Alex Shepherd, Hamilton Southeastern, 2027
Shepherd showed as one of the top all-around talents at the event, posting average to better tools in all facets. Built with twitch in a compact, athletic, 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame, Shepherd burned an event-best 6.88 60 to begin the day. The feet are well above-average for the profile and age, as is the defensive abilities he showed off. Shepherd reached 82 mph from the crouch, with all pops registering in the sub-2 range. His batting practice was taken in a mature fashion, staying on a line with a short stroke producing exits that peaked over 90 mph. The feet couple with well above average catch & throw, with enough to the bat to make him a strong follow in the class.

5’9” 170 w short quick swing & exits up to 90+ mph. Throws well, 82 mph from crouch, w quick transfer and sub2 pops. 6.8 runner. #TitansScout25 pic.twitter.com/1gzI1vksl5
+ OF/LHP Dylan Thompson, Warren Central, 2026
Thompson continues to cement himself as one of the top two-way players available in the 2026 class this fall. My evals have the offensive side as the higher ceiling, where the 6-foot-3, 195-pound projectable/athletic uncommitted senior posted 95+ peak exits, burned a 7.08 60, and reached 85 mph from the OF. There is some feel to hit shown with a simple setup and swing that he repeated well. On the mound, Thompson fills it with an upper-70s heater and plenty of secondary feel.
‘26 OF/P Dylan Thompson (@ThompsonDyl07) is a quality senior that remains uncommitted.

Exits peaked at 91.5 mph, with a 7.30 sixty to pair.

+ C/3B Jeff Haag, Hamilton Southeastern, 2028: Advanced strength for the present moment for a 2028. 5-foot-11, 195-pounds. + OF/LHP Aiden Lane, Cardinal Ritter, 2027: Stocky, 5-foot-10, 180-pounder with some twitch to the frame. Gathers under control from the left side before a small hand-climb load and softer stride out. Direct left-handed swing plays with quick hands and some bat speed, was up to a rounded 89 mph peak exit. Arm reached 83 from the OF and worked in the upper-70s on the bump.
+ INF Jake Meriwether, Heritage Christian, 2027: Built with a stocky, 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame w strength in the lower half. Moves well for his frame, burning a 7.1 60-yard dash. Took to batting practice and showed well, setting up in a crouched, grounded stance before a heavier forward move is made within a linear operation. On-plane with loose wrists and plenty of strength, reaching exits over 96 mph, and his best impacts were to the pull side of the field.
+ RHP/OF Calvin Nelson, North Central, 2028: Physical/athletic follow in the rising sophomore class. Looks the part in the uniform with a muscular, 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. Simple setup on the mound with repeatable moves. Moderate length to the arm action, produced heaters from 78-82.6 mph while showing some feel to land an upper-60s breaking ball. + OF Noah Preston, Brownsburg, 2028: Lean, athletic, 6-foot, 170-pounder with wiry strength and some twitch present. Tied for an event-best 6.88 60, a well-above average time for a rising sophomore. Showed off a direct right-handed stroke with some ability to leverage and lift while exits reached 90-plus mph.
+ 1B Connor Smith, Westfield, 2028: Showed well on the offensive side with some of the louder offensive metrics of the day. Physically advanced with strength in his 6-foot, 205-pound frame. Some length to the turn, but works on-plane deep in the hitting zone to allow for firm contact to all fields. Reached a peak exit velocity of 94.3 mph, good for 4th at the entire event, while posting the 3rd best average exit velocity of the day (87.1 mph). Plenty of bat speed for the age (73.6 mph) good for 2nd at the event.
