Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 OF/RHP Zack Lawler (Haverford School)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

Lawler is a top 5 outfielder in the entire Keystone State and was one of the most productive freshman players on their varsity team this past season. His daunting 6 ‘6 and 205-pound frame have immense potential and projectability and Lawler has the work ethic to continue his progression forward.

Offensively, typically a tall, long-levered, young prospect has inconsistent and erratic swings at times, but Lawler can generate a compact, repeatable swing. He can turn the barrel and minimize wasted movements compared to casting his hands and producing a long swing. He produces exit velocities up to 93 mph and max distances of 345 feet. His swing translates very well into gameplay. This high school season he showed the ability to handle fastballs up-and-in and off-speed low-and-away. Impressive young talent with the bat.

Defensively, Lawler continues to grow into his body and develop consistent, athletic movement patterns. His arm has also been up to 85 mph off the mound. As he continues to physically develop, Lawler looks to be one of the state’s most physically intriguing prospects.

Overall, what impresses the most about Lawler is how refined his mechanics are in the box while he continues to grow into and fill out his 6 ‘6 frame. A must follow prospect as we enter next high school season.
