Brady Dunnett, C/INF, Oswego, 2027

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 77 in the state. Compact 5-foot-8, 166-pound frame, rounded shoulders with a strong lower-half. Continues to look the part as one of the more polished left-handed bats in the state with defensive versatility. Simple and easy swing, short stride with direct hands to the ball, repeats well with feel for the barrel and a line-drive oriented swing, balanced throughout, worked mostly pull-side and middle of the field in this look, some feel to take it the other way on the outer-half, 94 mph peak EV, 344’ max distance. Advanced defensive actions on the infield, quick and agile feet through the baseball with a confident glove, soft hands and funnel into the body, crisp transfers, arm can play on the move and from multiple angles, T85 mph. Clean actions from behind the plate, controlled actions, stays low and in-line from the chute, quick glove-to-hand, throws played on the bag (T75 mph, 2.00 pop-time).

Jack MacLennan, C, Riverside-Brookfield, 2028

Uncommitted. 6-foot, 200-pound frame, athletic and muscle-bound frame with a developed lower-half. Right-handed hitter, early stride that stays balanced, some natural lift pull-side with an uphill swing, gets to his power easily, worked the ball to the whole field, 97 mph peak EV, 89 mph average EV. Averaged 70 mph for his bat-speed, T73.5 mph.

Justin Kay, 1B, Glenbard East, 2026

Right-handed hitter, narrow setup with a longer stride, creates some separation in the hands and body at footstrike, flat path, some feel to elevate pull-side, easy jump off the barrel with little perceived effort, drove it to the big parts of the field, 93 mph peak EV. Steady two-hand gather at first base, funnels into the body, feel around the bag.

Two-Ways

Tyler Manning, OF/RHP, Geneva, 2028

Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 178-pound frame, athletic and trim with a high waist, projectable. Athletic right-handed swing, wide base with a knee-knock stride, longer path through the zone, stays flat, gets some extension out front and through impact, used the whole field, 92 mph peak EV. 6.97 runner in the 60. Also gave an intriguing look on the mound, simple delivery from the stretch, slight drop/drive, works in-line, front foot lands square. Shorter arm action from the glove, high ¾ slot. Fastball worked around 78-79 mph playing mostly straight through the zone. Also went to a upper-60s curveball with 11/5 shape and a slider with more 10/4 shape, 70-72 mph. Rounded out his arsenal with a straight changeup, could land in around the zone consistently, 72-73 mph.

Ryan Wong SS/RHP, Glenbard North, 2026

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame, wiry frame with more fill to come. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a fluid and controlled load, hangs foot slightly into a longer stride, easy hands that work on top of the baseball, upside swing with more to come physically and more strength on the way, 91 mph peak EV. On the bump, Wong operated out of a smooth, controlled delivery, showing a high leg lift with tuck and coil into a drop-and-drive finish. Ball comes out from a clean and compact ¾ slot. Fastball showed life out of the hand, sitting 80-82 mph with arm-side sink. Also employed a heavy fading changeup at 75-77 mph that mixed in well with his splitter. He also flashed a tight 11/5 curveball in the mid-70s.

Jack Wiley, RHP, St. Charles East, 2027

Uncommitted. Sturdy 5-foot-11, 200-pound frame with present strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander worked out of an up-tempo drop-and-drive delivery, utilizing a high leg kick into a slight crossfire finish. Longer arm swing at the back from a loose ¾ slot. Fastball sat around 78-81 mph with arm-side run through the zone. Also showed the feel to locate his low-70s slider that had a tight 10/4 shape. Showcased a low-70s changeup as well that played with arm-side fade. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed a strong swing with a balanced finished, working flat through the zone with strong hands, some intent to lift pull-side, flashed line-drive feel, 90 mph peak EV, averaged 24 mph for his hand-speed (T25 mph).

A couple sophomore right-handers from St. Charles East that showed well on the day are Benny Schatzeder and Dominic Scialo - with each of them working up to 80 mph with the fastball.
