TOP PERFORMERS
Jake Guzman SS / OF / South Hills, CA / 2026Guzman turned in some of the loudest overall metrics of the entire event. He opened the day with a 7.07 60-yard dash. From there, he impressed defensively by throwing 90 mph across the infield, the top INF velocity recorded at the event, showing both carry and accuracy on his throws. The standout performance continued in BP, where Guzman posted a max exit velocity of 101.2 mph (also an event-best) while averaging 88.9 mph with a max distance of 357 feet, driving balls consistently to the pull side with authority. The slightly uphill path and compact, powerful stroke are designed to elevate and hit the ball in the air. At 6-2, 176 pounds, Guzman’s projectable, athletic frame already shows present strength in his game, and with continued physical development, there’s indication that his power and arm strength will only continue to climb. |

William Necessary LHP / 1B / Notre Dame, CA / 2028It was a strong bullpen session from Necessary who showcased a strong four-pitch mix, throwing from a deceptive high 3/4 arm slot that added life and angle to his arsenal. His FB (4-seam and 2-seam) sat 78-80 mph with consistent arm-side run and sink, locating effectively to his arm side with a top spin rate at 2014 rpm. The SL worked 65-68 mph with 2500+ spin, showing tight, late break and the ability to bury it down and in the zone as a potential put-away pitch in two-strike counts. His CB sat 64-65 mph with spin peaking at 2576 rpm, one of the event’s best, showing depth and shape, while the CH (74-76 mph) displayed late fade and drop with spin rates between 1487–1530 rpm, rounding out a polished mix. |

Cruz Rodriguez C / 1B / Chaminade College Preparatory-High School, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 258 / POS: 33
Rodriguez showed well on both sides of the ball, highlighted by his 79 mph arm velocity behind the dish with accurate throws and strong carry to 2B, posting 2.04-2.14 pop times during the workout. With some refinement to his glove-to-hand transfer and footwork, those numbers could take another step forward given his already notable arm strength. At the plate, Rodriguez recorded a max exit velocity of 96.4 mph and averaged 87.9 mph, showing a level, low line-drive swing with strength through contact and a projectable 5-11, 184-pound frame that carries present strength in the upper half. He also hopped on the mound, topping out at 84 mph and sitting 81-83 mph with his FB while mixing in a 68-70 mph CB that showed modest depth and vertical break. While Rodriguez’s long-term future is clearly behind the plate, his brief showing on the mound further emphasized his athleticism, arm talent, and overall versatility. |
Luke LaBelle RHP / 1B / Newbury Park High, CA / 2028Labelle participated both as pitcher and position player for the workout but really stood out offensively on the day. At the plate, Labelle posted a max exit velocity of 90 mph during BP with an early, controlled stride and a line-drive oriented swing that produced consistent hard contact to both LCF and RCF gaps. He displayed a strong ability to stay on plane through the zone as referenced to his 89% sweet spot rate and 78% line drive percentage. While the raw metrics may not immediately jump off the page, Labelle’s consistency and quality of contact made for one of the most impressive BP rounds of anyone attending the event. |
Abraham Ramirez OF / Saugus High, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 210 / POS: 54
The Saugus product put on eight pounds of muscle since the start of the summer, and the physical gains have clearly translated across his game. Ramirez turned in a 6.92 60-yard dash and posted a 99.8 mph max exit velocity with a max distance of 380 feet, consistently finding barrels during BP with a mix of line drives and deep fly balls. Ramirez’s bat speed (77.3-80.8 mph) and hand speed (up to 23.2 mph) reflect his explosive swing mechanics and growing strength at the plate. Defensively, he showed an accurate 84 mph arm from the outfield, profiling as a CF/RF long-term option. It was an all-around strong showing for Ramirez, who continues to trend upward with a blend of athleticism, power, and polish. |
Ryan Nestor OF / RHP / Harvard-Westlake, CA / 2028Nestor turned in one of the most impressive overall showings at the Orange County Fall ID, highlighted by an event-best 6.67 60-yard dash that immediately showcased his athleticism. He paired that speed with an 82 mph arm from the outfield and a 91.2 mph max exit velocity, averaging 86 mph with a 63% sweet spot rate and 50% line drive rate, both among the top marks of the event. Nestor’s peak hand speed of 21.6 mph and athletic 5-10, 170-pound frame suggest even more upside as he continues to physically mature. Overall, Nestor proved to be one of the more intriguing and well-rounded players in attendance, offering a strong blend of speed, contact ability, and projection. |
Nico Benoit 3B / SS / Notre Dame, CA / 2028Benoit showed a strong all-around offensive profile, posting a 93 mph max exit velocity and 87.1 mph average EV with a max distance of 363 feet. The swing features an uphill path designed to elevate the baseball, creating natural lift and carry off the bat. His bat speed (77.1 mph max) and quick hands (24.9 mph max, 23.5 avg) allow him to generate easy whip through the zone. Benoit also ran a 7.00 60-yard dash, showing athleticism in his 6-1, 174-pound frame that still offers plenty of room for physical growth. |
Jagr Scott SS / C / San Marcos High, CA / 2028Scott put together an impressive BP session, posting a 98.2 mph max exit velocity while averaging 91.1 mph, showing consistent loud contact with an 83% hard-hit rate. The swing is compact and efficient, staying level through the zone and producing line drives to all fields. Scott’s peak bat speed at continues to tick upwards at 74.7 mph and his arm action across the infield is accurate and continuing to become more and more fluid through the motion. He continues to make noticeable strides in his overall game, and with his steady development and remaining physical projection, Scott looks like an unfinished product with trending upside. |
Michael Flink RHP / 1B / Bishop Montgomery High, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 134 / POS: 25
A strong, athletic frame at 6-2, 212 pounds, Flink shows clear physical projection and the potential to continue to add strength and velocity over time. His FB sat 86-87 mph, topping at 87.7 with a max spin rate of 2121 rpm and an 89% strike rate, showing consistent command in the zone. The CB (72-75 mph) flashed as a developing weapon, featuring sharp lateral break when he found his release point. His CH (74-78 mph) was arguably his most intriguing pitch, a true off-speed offering with low spin (1300-1600 rpm) and late arm-side fade, effectively tunneling off the FB with identical arm speed. Flink’s smooth, controlled delivery and full arm action contribute to his repeatability and deception. With continued refinement of his secondary command and natural velocity growth, Flink’s overall profile is highly projectable and points toward a promising future on the mound. |
