CORONA, CALIF. - On Sunday, October 26th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Inland Empire Fall ID at Corona HS in Corona, Cal. This was an open event for high school classes (2026-2029), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top prospects.
Over 20 players made their way to Corona and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.
Today, we will take a look at some of the standout performers from the Inland Empire Fall ID.

Christian De La O C / RHP / Centennial High, CA / 2028De La O showcased a projectable 6-1, 170-pound frame with tools that stand out on both sides of the ball. Behind the plate, he posted 1.91-2.08 pop times with strong carry to the bag, a quick, natural release, and 79 mph arm velocity, displaying the athleticism and present feel to develop at the position long term. At the plate, the Centennial product produced a max exit velocity of 92.9 mph with a max distance of 343 feet, an average bat speed of 71.3 mph, and a 42.9% line drive rate, showcasing a short, compact swing with an early stride that consistently drove the ball gap to gap. On the mound, he displayed true two-way potential, topping out at 88.1 mph on his fastball (avg 86.7) and pairing it with a tight curveball at 69-70 mph with 2200+ spin, commanding 100% strikes with the pitch throughout his bullpen session. De La O’s combination of catching instincts, offensive ability, and pitching upside make him one of the more intriguing prospects from the event. |

Scotty Wilson LHP / OF / Norco High, CA / 2027Wilson had a strong start to the day, showing an accurate 88 mph outfield arm on a line to home plate. At the plate, Wilson posted a max bat speed of 70.1 mph with 20.8 Gs of rotational acceleration, pairing a level, line-drive swing with a 50% sweet spot rate, consistently barreling the baseball gap to gap. On the mound, he flashed two-way potential, sitting 80-81 mph with arm-side run on his fastball and mixing in a heavy-breaking curveball (65-66 mph, 2500+ spin) that generated 67% strikes. The third pitch shown off in his bullpen session was a changeup (66-68 mph, 1400-1500 spin) featuring late dive and a solid change of speeds off the fastball. Wilson’s 5-11, 167-pound frame is athletic and projectable, with room to continue adding strength and velocity, making him a versatile and intriguing 2027 prospect with upside on both sides of the ball. |

Danny De La Torre OF / 1B / Corona High School, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 203 / POS: 52
Arguably the most impressive performance of the entire event came from De La Torre, delivering the loudest BP round in attendance. He led all hitters with a max exit velocity of 105.9 mph and an average of 94.7 mph. Every swing was loud as he finished with an 80% hard-hit rate and 73% sweet spot rate, while his max batted distance of 394 feet showed legitimate power potential to all parts of the field. De La Torre’s swing produced consistent line-drive and backspin contact, driven by a whippy barrel and elite bat speed metrics. His bat speed was 78 mph with a peak of 83.3 mph. His hand speed (22.8-25.4 mph) and rotational acceleration (averaging 30.0 Gs, peaking at 37.4 Gs) highlight just how much explosive force he generates through the zone. Defensively, De La Torre also showed well with a strong, accurate arm that reached 86 mph from the outfield, displaying both carry and control on his throws. At 6-0, 195 pounds, he’s a physical, athletic presence with strength throughout the frame and clear power potential that make him an intriguing prospect to follow. |

Luke Severns C / 2B / Etiwanda High, CA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 185 / POS: 21
Severns continues to show steady development and all-around polish, turning in another productive and well-rounded performance. The left-handed swing is projectable, producing a max exit velocity of 93.5 mph with a max distance of 341 feet. His swing is smooth and efficient, featuring a controlled leg lift and slight uphill path that generates consistent, hard contact to all fields. There’s minimal wasted movement, allowing him to stay on time and make frequent quality contact, which are clear indicators that Severns’ offensive game will continue to trend upward as he adds strength and experience. Defensively, Severns was equally impressive. He posted pop times between 2.03-2.18 with a 75 mph throwing velocity, showing accuracy and clean mechanics behind the plate. His work during bullpens stood out most where he showed off soft hands, quiet receiving actions, and a strong ability to beat the ball to the spot, consistently stealing strikes at the bottom of the zone. He looks comfortable, confident, and natural on both sides of the ball, and his continued progression suggests he’s a catcher on the rise who’s only going to keep getting better. |

Dylan Yencho 1B / OF / Laguna Beach, CA / 2027Yencho showcased some of the loudest contact of the entire event, posting the second-highest max exit velocity at 103.3 mph while averaging an impressive 96.2 mph. He also recorded a max batted distance of 382 feet, further reinforcing his middle-of-the-order power potential. Yencho’s level swing path naturally creates loft, allowing him to elevate the baseball with consistency and authority. His 85.7% hard-hit rate across both BP rounds highlights just how often he finds the barrel, while his 21.0 mph average hand speed helps generate impactful bat speed through the zone. With a strong, physical 6-2, 213-pound frame, Yencho fits the mold of a true power-hitting 1B/OF profile. The strength and explosiveness already present in his swing suggest even more impact is still to come as he continues to refine his approach. Overall, Yencho boasts one of the highest-upside offensive profiles in attendance, with the tools and build to become a major run producer at the next level. |
