California State Games: 2026 Pitcher Analysis

Starting on July 30th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the California State Games at Fullerton College and High School in Fullerton, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-2029), and gave our staff an ample look at the state's top prospects.

Today, we continue the release of the scouting reports from the event, now looking at the 2026 pitchers:

TOP PITCHING PROSPECTS

1. Jack McGuire, Villa Park (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP Highly projectable RHP with long levers that shows great feel for all 5 pitches.
Body: 6-4, 189-pounds. Lean, wiry frame with room to fill.
Delivery: Traditional windup delivery. Glove stays high. High leg kick. Creates great hip-shoulder separation. Extends fully on mound.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 arm slot. Full circle arm path. Loose, long arm release. Shows heavy recoil.
FB: T88, 86-88 mph. Stays mostly firm with slight ASR movement. T1937, 1772 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. Okay spin with late depth. T1907, 1692 average rpm.
SL: 73-74 mph. Sweep-like movement can curve vertically a bit. T1879, 1669 average rpm.
CH: 79-79 mph. Shows heavy fade. T954, 954 average rpm.
SPLT: 81-81 mph. Great depth.
