Mesa Fall ID: Quick Hits (10/26)

MESA, AZ — On Sunday, October 26th, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff hosted the Mesa Fall ID at Chandler-Gilbert CC, featuring prospects from the 2030 through 2026 classes.
Each participant received a full Prep Baseball profile update, including headshot, video, showcase statistics, and advanced data analysis. With profiles viewed by more than 900 college programs across the country, the event provided valuable exposure for players while offering an in-depth evaluation heading into the offseason.

Evan Thompson OF / C / Casteel, AZ / 2029Evan continues to show why he’s one of the more polished young bats in the state. The swing is smooth and easy from the left side, and the ball just jumps off his barrel when he stays through the middle, topping out at 102 miles per hour and 381 feet. You can tell he’s starting to understand how to use his frame and there’s still plenty more strength coming. He moves well in the outfield too, with clean actions and an 88 mile per hour arm that plays on the line. Excited to see how he builds on this as he matures. |

Kobe Gomez RHP / OF / Queen Creek, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 98 / POS: 15
Kobe showed why he’s one of those players you can trust to impact the game in multiple ways. He looked smooth and athletic in the outfield, taking efficient routes with confidence and showing off a strong, accurate arm that reached 87 miles per hour to the target. The right-handed bat worked on a short, direct path through the zone, producing firm contact to both gaps and topping out at 94 miles per hour off the bat. He also jumped on the mound and showed the same easy rhythm, filling the zone with a mid-80s fastball and a sharp breaking ball. Kobe competes with intent and plays the game the right way; it’s easy to see him finding success quickly at the next level. |

Bryant Provencio SS / 2B / Desert Ridge, AZ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 5
Bryant plays the game with the kind of polish you love to see at his age. The swing is simple and repeatable, with consistent barrels to all parts of the field and sneaky pop that’s starting to show more each time we see him. He’s a quality glove on the dirt, showing clean footwork, soft hands, and confidence on every play. The maturity in his approach stands out; Bryant’s trending in all the right ways and is only scratching the surface of what he can do. |

Diego Perez Samaniego 3B / 1B / Millennium, AZ / 2026Diego has really started to come into his own offensively. The right-handed swing is strong and controlled, driving the ball to both gaps with authority, 98 miles per hour off the bat and close to 375 feet. He’s smooth around the infield and makes tough plays look easy with good body control and steady hands. There’s a quiet confidence in the way he goes about his business, and his power potential is only going to continue to climb as he keeps refining the approach. |

Reed Ross C / OF / Phoenix Country, AZ / 2027Reed showed some of the best raw power at the event, 111.7 mph exit velocity and 433 feet off the bat speaks for itself. But it’s not just strength; he’s learning how to repeat his swing and stay under control while still doing damage. Behind the plate, he showed leadership, composure and quick exchanges that produced accurate throws in the low twos. Reed’s a physical kid with real upside, and if he keeps progressing, he could turn into a serious offensive threat at the next level. |

Cooper Gribbons 1B / RHP / Casteel, AZ / 2027Rankings StateRank: 62 / POS: 5
Cooper continues to impress as a two-way prospect with feel for both sides of the ball. On the mound, he’s confident and in control, working the zone with a low to mid 80s fastball that plays firm and mixing his offspeed effectively. At the plate, he stays quiet and balanced with a simple move that allows him to find barrels through the middle. He’s steady defensively at first with soft hands and a strong arm. The foundation is there, Cooper’s game keeps trending in the right direction. |

Braydon Switzenberg OF / RHP / Desert Mountain, AZ / 2027Braydon continues to take steps forward every time we see him. The swing has intent, and when he finds his rhythm, the ball jumps off his bat, 99 miles per hour and 356 feet with carry to both gaps. He runs well and moves naturally in the outfield, tracking balls with ease and throwing accurately to his target. There’s a lot to like with his athleticism and drive and he’s starting to put all the pieces together. |

Andres Lozano 1B / Mesquite, AZ / 2026Andres has real presence in the box from the left side, and the power continues to show up. He stays quiet and balanced and when he gets into his legs, the ball absolutely flies, 97 miles per hour off the bat and 364 feet at its peak. Around the bag, he’s dependable and moves better than you’d expect for his size, showing awareness and soft hands. Andres keeps trending upward and has a chance to be a real impact bat if he keeps developing the way he is. |

Chase Barker RHP / C / Dr. Camille Casteel High School, AZ / 2027Chase has the frame, the poise, and the delivery you love to see in a young pitcher. He’s 6'3 and moves with balance and control, filling the zone with an 84 mile per hour fastball that comes out clean and easy. The breaking ball has shape and flashes depth and he’s beginning to find a better feel for his changeup. Everything works naturally, and as he adds strength, the stuff will continue to tick up. A lot to like here long-term. |

Jacob Black C / 1B / Red Mountain, AZ / 2028Jacob’s game keeps rounding into form, the right-handed swing is compact and strong, producing a 97 mile per hour exit velocity with easy lift to both gaps. Behind the plate, he’s dependable with clean exchanges and accurate throws in the low 2's. He showed steady glove work at first as well. The baseball IQ and work ethic stand out; Jacob’s a name that’ll keep popping up as he keeps progressing. |
