Orange County Summer ID: Pitcher Analysis

On June 4th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Orange County Summer ID at Hart Park in Orange, Cal. This was an open event for high school classes (2026-29), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top prospects.

38 players made their way to Hart Park and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at all of the pitcher’s scouting reports:

TOP PITCHERS

1. Jonathan Torres, Chaparral High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP LHH with a rhythmic load, stays level through the zone with pullside impact. Two-way player.
Body: 5-10, 197.5-pounds. Strong frame with broad shoulders, projectable.
Delivery: Relaxed windup, quiet lower half with a shorter lift and stride, full extension over front leg.
Arm Action: LH. Shorter action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T74, 71-73 mph. True 4-seam shape, used best on the edges. T2072, 1965 average rpm.
SL: 66-68 mph. Compact SL with short two-plane break; cutter-adjacent shape. T2088, 1992 average rpm.
CUT: 69-71 mph. Late glove side action.
