TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the #165 ranked player in the 2026 class in SoCal '26 SS/3B Mason Trigo from Buena High School in the Ventura, Calif.. The RH hitting INF earned a significant role on the varsity level for Buena in 2024 and showed flashes of his interesting potential. In 25 games played he had 75 plate appearances with 64 at bats while posting a slash line of .281/.387/.375 while leading the team with six doubles, tied for third with 18 hits, while sitting in second with 11 runs scored. Showed a solid present approach with a 14 K / 10 BB rate and stole four bases. His 17 assists in 25 games was second on the team with 65 total chances on the spring. A solid first year on the varsity level carried over into a pair of very strong showings for the Prep Baseball California staff at the VTA County Uncommitted Game in fall of 2024 and then at the 2025 Central California Preseason All State event.

With athletic frame that shows a wiry present build Trigo checked in at 6'1 163.5 lbs. while showing present decent athletic ability in his profile with a 7.50 60 time while posting 1.73 10-yard / 4.15 30-yard splits at his best with a 18.1 MPH max run speed that all have room to improve as he continues adding strength to his frame with maturity. He plays with body control and smooth clean hands at 3B with an easy arm action that can throw accurately form multiple arm slots and relies on his quick transfer/accuracy over pure arm strength with more in the tank. Trigo projects as a strong 3B/2B defender, but with improved athleticism/arm strength could play SS in the future.

His swing showed well during the batting practice and game play portion of both the events Trigo attended which backs up the flashes of success he showed in 2024 with plenty of reason to see future upside in the offensive profile. It's a leverage based RH swing that has a simple operation in the box with a small load rearward and slight push back with the hands before uncorking a tight quick turn to contact with consistent feel for his barrel.. On Blast Motion Trigo has posted bat speeds up to 68.1 MPH, high quality hand speed maxing at 19.9 MPH with a turn that generates up to 13.2 Gs of rotational acceleration with more to come as he adds strength to his wiry frame. During his batting practice sessions Trigo has consistently demonstrated solid impact in the profile with a strong feel for his barrel/hard contact. He has posted a top end exit velocity at 93.2 MPH while averaging 85.5 MPH with a personal best presently of 329' on his max distance, a 69% sweet spot rate with a 29% hard hit rate. His swing path is direct to the baseball with more of a flatter leveraged path through the zone that generates solid 60-75% Flyball/Line Drive rates during batting practice with the line drive rate being his highest consistent percentage playing to doubles power from line to line at present.

With an intriguing set of present tools across the board as a solid RH hitter who shows feel to hit with room to add power in the profile and a strong defensive profile on the left side of the INF dirt Trigo is a name that college programs would be wise to keep eyes on in the coming months ahead for their 2026 recruiting classes.
