The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

After a very successful season in 2024, the Redan Raiders look to continue their winning ways with a strong senior and junior class that include some top-end talent in the region. Leading the way for this year’s Raiders squad is SS Matthew Evans who is coming off a commitment to ETSU and looks to add to his high school career with another strong spring. Other leaders from this senior class are Cross Redden and Jamir Holloway, both looking to add to their high school campaigns with strong showings on the bump and in the field this season. While in the field, Xavier Zachery looks to be a wall behind the dish and another strong bat in this lineup; and Dyson Marks look to add experience and maturity on the mound and in the field as the junior looks to add to his campaign this spring. A handful of underclassmen also look to do some damage in this already stacked batting line-up, LHP James Bethea, INF Moxie McNealy and 2028 INF Tobias Bell all look to contribute their talents and will be fun to see their maturity as it gets later in the season. With a roster this talented, this is a team that looks to strive for greater results than their unfortunate demise from a year ago. This team has talent and depth at every position and bats that can get hot at any moment. It will be hard to contain a team of this caliber for long, very much looking forward to watching them in 2025.
