Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations from high school coaches statewide. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards and to the coaches for their nominations.

Additionally, we will continue our Alabama Diamond Notes, released every Wednesday, to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Mizuno Week 6 Pitcher of the Week

Braylon Morris RHP / Cottonwood, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 177 / POS: 46 RHP Braylon Morris has been named the Mizuno Pitcher of the Week after delivering a dominant performance on the mound. The Wallace-Dothan CC recruit went 1-0 with seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 13. Morris’ stellar outing helped lead Cottonwood to a perfect 3-0 week, improving their record to 15-4 and earning them a spot in the Class 2A top-10 rankings for the first time this season.
