Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations from high school coaches statewide. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards and to the coaches for their nominations.

Additionally, we will continue our Alabama Diamond Notes, released every Wednesday, to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Mizuno Week 7 Pitcher of the Week

Tyler Pierce RHP / SS / Boaz, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 123 / POS: 33 RHP/SS Tyler Pierce has been named the Mizuno Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after another dominant performance on the mound. The West Alabama quarterback recruit tossed a seven-inning complete-game no-hitter, striking out 13 while issuing just two walks in a commanding outing. Pierce’s performance anchored a strong week for Boaz, helping the Pirates go 2-1 and improve to 19-7 on the season, placing them just outside the top-10 in the Class 5A state rankings.
