Mizuno Pitcher of the Week: Week 8 Edition

Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations from high school coaches statewide. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards and to the coaches for their nominations.
Additionally, we will continue our Alabama Diamond Notes, released every Wednesday, to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Harrison Cook RHP / Fairhope High School, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 113 / POS: 29
RHP Harrison Cook of Fairhope HS has been named the Mizuno Pitcher of the Week for Week 8 of the 2025 season after delivering a dominant outing on the mound. The Coastal Alabama-South CC recruit touched 91 mph with his fastball and tossed an eight-inning complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out 13 in a clutch performance against an area rival. Cook’s effort earned him the win and helped lead Fairhope to a 3-1 week, improving the Pirates to 23-9 overall and securing a No. 8 ranking in the Class 7A state poll.
