Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2025 Diamond Notes (Week 7)

The Prep Baseball Louisiana Diamond Notes serves as an opportunity for our staff to highlight players, from across the state, that put up impressive performances on a given week, yet fell short of our Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week honors.
NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around the state. Our Diamond Notes will be released each Wednesday throughout the high school spring season.
Pitcher of the Week (Week 7)

Adam Guillet LHP / 1B / Natchitoches Central, LA / 2025Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 3
The Louisiana Tech recruit had a stellar week on the mound for the Chiefs, as they finished with a perfect 4-0 record last week to improve their season record to 19-6. Guillet earned his first win last Tuesday against Captain Shreve by throwing 6 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts on 83 total pitches (53 strikes \ 30 balls). He then turned around and started again on Saturday against Byrd to earn his second win of the week after tossing 5 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.

Player of the Week (Week 7)

William Nikolaus SS / RHP / Dunham, LA / 2025Rankings StateRank: 112 / POS: 27
The Nunez Community College recruit had a stellar week at the plate for Dunham. Nikolaus got his week started off against Slaughter Community Charter by going 2-for-3 with a home run, 4 runs batted in, and 2 runs scored in the Tigers 15-0 victory. On Wednesday against Episcopal BR he collected 4 hits in 5 trips to the plate with 1 double, 2 runs batted in, 1 run scored, and also had a stolen base. He then capped his week off against Class 5A Walker with another 4-for-5 outing with 1 double, 2 runs batted in, 3 runs scored, and another stolen base. For the week, Nikolaus finished 10-for-13 (.769) with a home run, 2 doubles, 8 runs batted in, 6 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.

Owen Trosclair RHP / Covenant Christian, LA / 2026The uncommitted junior had a stellar start last Thursday against Central Catholic. He earned the win after tossing a complete game no-hitter with 2 walks and 13 strikeouts. |

Connor Smith RHP / Northshore, LA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 29 / POS: 9
The uncommitted junior earned the win against Chalmette last Thursday. Smith tossed 6 2/3 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 1 hit with 5 walks with 12 strikeouts.

Carter Wilson LHP / OF / Sulphur, LA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 10
The uncommitted junior was stellar on both sides of the ball for the Tors in Week 7. He earned a win after tossing a complete game giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 7 strikeouts, while also finishing the week 4-for-13 (.308) at the plate with 2 runs batted in and 2 stolen bases.

Michael Farris RHP / Ponchatoula, LA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 90 / POS: 22
The uncommitted junior earned a tough no-decision last Friday against Mandeville. Ponchatoula won the game 1-0 in 10 innings and Farris tossed 8 shutout innings giving up only 1 hit with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.

Against Rosepine last Thursday, Guidry tossed 7 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits with 5 walks and 8 strikeouts.

The uncommitted junior had a big week at the plate for the Vikings in Week 7. Across three games, Trahan went 5-for-10 (.500) with a home run, 2 doubles, 1 run batted in, 6 runs scored, 1 walk, and also swiped 2 bases.

The LSU recruit continued to swing the bat well in Week 7 for the Panthers. Downs went 5-for-12 (.417) with a double, 2 runs batted in, and 5 runs scored.

Broussard had a fantastic week on the mound for the Bulldogs in Week 7. He earned two wins after throwing 8 2/3 innings giving up 1 earned run with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. |
