The Mississippi Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

MISSISSIPPI DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 10

Cam Harrison RHP / OF / Mooreville, MS / 2025 Harrison threw 4 hitless innings, with 6 strikeouts in the Trooper's playoff win over Belmont.

Tristan Fox RHP / 3B / Ocean Springs, MS / 2026 Fox, an East Central CC commit, threw 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 run, with 9 strikeouts in a win over Gulfport.

Jack Jordan SS / 3B / Ocean Springs, MS / 2025 Jordan, a Jones College signee,  threw 6 innings of shut out baseball, allowing 4 hits, with 6 strikeouts in a win over Gulfport.

Maddox Miller LHP / 1B / Oak Grove, MS / 2025 Miller, a former Future gamer and Mississippi State signee, threw 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, with 9 strikeouts in a win over Petal.

Brock Sheppard / POPLARVILLE JR SR HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025 Sheppard went 5 for 8 on the week for the Hornets with a home run, double, and 5 runs batted in.

Jett Smith SS / RHP / Poplarville, MS / 2028 Smith went 4 for 7 with a double, 4 runs scored, and 2 RBI's in the Hornets 2 wins over Morton in the first round of the playoffs.

Brayden Lee 3B / Poplarville, MS / 2027 Lee went 4 for 9 for the Hornets with 4 runs scored and 3 runs batted in.

Wyatt McDaniels C / OF / Mooreville, MS / 2027 McDaniels went 7 for 8 with a home run, 3 doubles, and 5 runs batted in. He also threw 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, 0 earned runs, with 7 strikeouts in a game one win over Belmont.

Cannon Hensarling RHP / 3B / OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025 Hensarling, a former Future Gamer and Nichols State recruit, went 5 for 9 with 2 doubles, 7 stolen bases, 4 runs, and 5 runs batted in. He also threw 5 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, with 7 strikeouts, in a win over Gulfport.

Justin San Miguel SS / 2B / OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2026 San Miguel, a former Future Gamer and Troy commit, went 4 for 9 with a double and 4 runs batted in.

Sullivan Reed 3B / 1B / Lamar, MS / 2027 Reed went 7 for 8 on the week for the Raiders with 2 home runs, 4 doubles, a triple, with 12 runs batted in.

Cayden Prestage OF / LHP / Itawamba, MS / 2026 Prestage, a former Future Gamer, went 4 for 6 with a home run, triple, double, and 5 runs batted in. He also threw 3 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts in a playoff win over Choctaw Central.

Landon Stanley SS / New Site, MS / 2025 Stanley went 8 for 10 with a home run, 3 doubles, and 6 runs batted in. Also threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 earned, with 12 strikeouts in a win over Sebastopol.

Rilyn Lambert 3B / New Site, MS / 2028 Lambert went 3 for 9 with 3 home runs and 9 runs batted in versus Sebastopol.

Drew Davis RHP / SS / Sumrall, MS / 2027 Davis went 5 for 5 with 4 doubles, 6 runs, 6 HBP, and 4 runs batted in. Also threw 3 innings, allowing 0 hits or runs, with 6 strikeouts vs Raymond

Landon Hawkins SS / RHP / SUMRALL MIDDLE SCHOOL, MS / 2025 Hawkins, a Pearl River CC signee, went 6 for 9 with 2 home runs, a double, and 6 runs batted in.

Leo Odom RHP / 1B / Sumrall, MS / 2025 Odom, an Ole Miss signee, went 6 for 10 with a home run, 4 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in during Sumrall's first round series with Raymond.

Eli Wheat SS / 2B / Oak Grove, MS / 2025 Wheat, a Jones College recruit, went 5 for 9 with a double and 4 runs batted in.

Mac McDaniel OF / Oak Grove, MS / 2026 McDaniels went 5 for 9 with a double and 4 runs batted in.

Rilyn Lambert 3B / New Site, MS / 2028 Went 3 for 9 with 3 home runs and 9 runs batted in versus Sebastopol.
