With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2025 Spring Team Preview: Defiance Bulldogs

2024 Tourney Finish: District Finals loss to Napoleon
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/3

Coach Outlook: "We have a very talented senior class that has a chance to have a very successful season."

2025 Team Strengths:

  • We return our top 3 pitchers from last season. Brez Zipfel, Cody Shaw, and Kahlil Ligon.

  • Brez Zipfel (SS/RHP 6'2 170 3 yr starter and Defiance College Commit. Last years stats, .328 BA, 8-2 with a 1.18 ERA)
  • Cody Shaw (C/RHP 5'11 190 3 yr starter and a Findlay Commit. Last years stats, .268 BA, 6-2 with a 2.53 ERA)
  • Kahlil Ligon (1b/RHP 6'3 170 Last years stats. .262 BA, 5-1 with a 3.21 ERA)
  • Noah Gomez (2b 5'7 175 Last years stats. .324 BA with 14 rbi)
  • Brady Borton (CF 5'8 170 Last years stats. .294 BA, 15 rbi and 22 sb)
