With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2025 Spring Team Preview: Wapakoneta Redskins

Team Name: Wapakoneta Redskins
Head Coach: Jason Brandt
Division: III
2024 Record: 14-6
2024 Tourney Finish: Sectional Finals loss to Lexington
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

Coach Outlook: "We have been fortunate to win the WBL the past two seasons but have graduated almost all of our innings pitched on those two teams. We have to find a way to replace those arms. We do however return Grant Jolly who was limited in innings last year, but was league and district player of the year in 2023. If we can find a couple other guys to step up and throw consistently, we have a chance to be near the top of the league once again."

2025 Team Strengths:

  • We have some kids who are tremendous leaders through work ethic and example. I hope this rubs off on all our younger kids as well.

Top Returning Players:

  • Grant Jolly P/SS, 2025 5'11"/180 lbs R/R 4 yr starter, Marshall commit. Last year he was 1-1 2 saves 30K, 20 IP 1.3 ERA, .282 BA, 1 HR
  • Griffin Mericle - 5'10" 175 lbs Catcher, .235 BA, .490 OBP
  • Drew Bailey 6'1" 190 SS/P 1-3 1 save, 0.875 ERA 16 IP, .254 BA, 12 RBI, 8 SBs
  • Jarrett Mullen 5'7" 170 OF/P, .267 BA, 9RBI, 7SB
  • Zach Fisher 5'10" 150 OF/INF, .211 BA
  • Mason Ludwig 5'11" 205 Corner IF/P, .147 BA, .500 OBP
