We have our sixth update to the 2025 VA/DC Power 25. We are in the back half of the season, for most, and nearing the close of the season for private schools. This week there were nine teams inside of the Power 25 that lost one game and one team that lost multiple games. Three of those ten teams move out of the rankings. Two previously ranked teams move back in after a few weeks out. The final team in has spent no time inside the Power 25 this season. Without further ado, we are going to highlight a few teams that have seen some movement in the Power 25.
VA/DC Power 25 Update Notes
+ St. John's remains at the top spot and Miller School moves into second after both had yet another unblemished week. The Cadets prepare for the WCAC tournament and the Mavericks have a five game week on deck. Battlefield continues their move up the Power 25, checking in as the top ranked undefeated team and looking at their schedule, there is a good chance they head into the playoffs with a 21-0 record.
+ The biggest move up this week comes from the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers. Coach Gilleland has the upperclass heavy Cavs getting it done in the Seminole District. They had two district matchups this week, including a big one with LCA, and they managed to score eleven total runs in those two games and gave up zero. Their defeat of a ranked LCA team by a score of 1-0 is by far their biggest win of the season, with the Glass win not too far behind.
+ There are three new teams moving into the rankings, including Western Branch. The Bruins have yet to crack into the rankings this year, at least until this week. Coach Wright is doing what he always does, coaching. This team has gotten better as the season has progressed and will yet again be one of the frontrunners to make it out of Region 6A.
