Updated Illinois Power 25 Rankings

For the third time of this young spring, we are hitting the refresh button on the Power 25. Lincoln-Way West remains in the top position after a 3-0 week, including a statement win over rival and No. 23 at the time Lincoln-Way East 8-2. Libertyville, Brother Rice, McHenry and Nazareth help fill out our Top-5, all of which went undefeated on the week. There are two new faces in Downers Grove North and Hersey, plus some other movement throughout.

Rising
+ No. 2 Libertyville (13-0): Rising two spots to No. 4, the Wildcats went a perfect 3-0 on the week and now sit at 13-0 on the year. They saw three dominant wins this week while outscoring opponents 19-1, taking down Stevenson 11-1, Barrington 4-0 and Elk Grove 4-0.
+ No. 3 Brother Rice (11-1): The Crusaders are up a couple spots and now sit at No. 3 on the year. Their offense has really started to come alive, scoring 62 runs on the week with a 22-2 win over Leo, 15-7 win over Fenwick, 6-1 win over Lyons, 15-3 win over St. Francis and a 4-3 win over Chicago Hope. On the year, they have outscored opponents 116-43 and are on a nine game winning streak.
+ No. 4 McHenry (9-1-1): The Warriors find themselves up two spots to No. 4 after a 3-0 week. They had three quality wins with two coming over ranked teams - taking down No. 10 Hampshire 2-0 and No. 19 Huntley 6-1. They also took down a strong St. Charles North club 2-0.
+ No. 5 Nazareth (14-0): The Roadrunners improve to 14-0 on the year with a dominant 3-0 week. They saw a 5-0 win over Whitney Young, 2-1 win over Chicago Hope and 13-7 win over Oak Lawn. They start conference play this week with a couple matchups against Marist.
+ No. 12 O’Fallon (11-1): The Panthers are rising four spots and now sit at 11-1 on the year. They went a perfect 4-0 this past week, seeing wins over Christian Brothers (MO) 1-0, Granite City 7-2 and Althoff Catholic 5-0. Their biggest win came against No. 12 Mascoutah, taking them down 14-1.
+ No. 16 Normal Community (11-3): Community now sits at No. 16 after a 5-0 week, and they improved their record to 11-3 on the year. They saw wins over Danville 18-0, Peoria Notre Dame 5-3, Champaign Central 7-4 & 6-2, and Rock Island 6-1.
+ No. 17 St. Laurence (9-3): The Vikings are climbing three spots after going a perfect 4-0 this past week. They saw wins over Aurora Central Catholic 12-1, Marmion 5-4, Montini 6-4 and No. 19 Huntley, as they now sit at 9-3 on the year.
+ No. 18 Lemont (7-2-1): Lemont is up three spots after a 4-0 week in which they outscored their opponents 33-3, taking down Thornton Fractional South 16-1 & 10-0, Richards 4-2 and Plainfield East 3-0.
+ No. 19 Fremd (8-0-1): A perfect 2-0 week has Fremd up three spots to No. 19 as they are now 8-0-1 on the year. They saw two quality wins with a 5-3 victory over Glenbrook South and a 8-3 win over Glenbrook North.
+ No. 20 Lincoln-Way East (9-2): The Griffins improve to 9-2 on the year after a 2-1 week, rising three spots to No. 20. They saw two ranked wins over No. 17 at the time Andrew 3-2 & 4-2 - and their lone loss came to No. 1 Lincoln-Way West 8-2.
+ No. 21 DePaul College Prep (14-0): The Rams are now a perfect 14-0 on the year after a 3-0 week, taking down St. Francis 4-0, Leo 10-0 and Wilmot (WI) 2-0. The Rams will be tested in the coming weeks as their conference play picks up.
+ No. 22 Oswego (11-1): The Panthers moved up three spots after a spotless 4-0 week. They outscored opponents 24-3, with all three runs scoring in a 4-3 win over Waubonsie Valley. They also saw wins over Plainfield Central 5-0, Joliet Central 10-0 and Joliet West 5-0.
Falling
+ No. 6 Providence Catholic (7-3): The Celtics are now at No. 6 after a 2-2 week, that saw them split with the No. 4 team in Kentucky (St. Xavier), while dropping a game to No. 1 Trinity (KY) 5-2. With CCL Blue play starting up this week, Provi will have time to stack impressive wins and beef up their resume.
+ No. 10 Edwardsville (7-6): The Tigers fall eight spots in this week’s update after an 0-4 week down at the NHSI, where they lost to two top-5 teams in California and also dropped a game to No. 5 Casteel (AZ) and Columbus (FL). Though the record may not stand out, they are still a battle tested group with one, if not the toughest schedule so far in the state.
+ No. 15 DeKalb (11-1-1): DeKalb had a 1-1-1 week and fall two spots - beating Belvidere 15-0, losing to Kaneland 3-2, and tying Boylan Catholic 6-6. Looking ahead to this week, DeKalb will take on Naperville North three times.
+ No. 24 Andrew (11-2): Andrew suffered their first two losses of the season this week at the hands of now No. 20 Lincoln-Way East, and find themselves at No. 24 now. They also picked up a 4-0 win over Burlington Central last week, and will look to turn the page this week as they are set to take on Chicago Christian, Wilmington, and Stagg.
New to the Power 25
+ No. 23 Downers Grove North (11-1): The Trojans enter the Power 25 for the first time this year as they now sit at 11-1 on the season. They went a perfect 4-0 this past week, taking down Hinsdale Central three times (8-5, 10-3, 4-3) and Hinsdale South 5-2.
+ No. 25 Hersey (9-1-1): A 2-1 week has Hersey in the Power 25 for the first time all year - sporting wins over Maine West 12-2 and Niles West 5-1. Their lone loss came in a hard-fought 1-0 battle with No. 10 at the time Hampshire.
