As the Oregon high school baseball season continues, Prep Baseball features an Uncommitted Spotlight, where we highlight standout performers that attended a Prep Baseball Preseason ID event this year. Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.

This week, we spotlight  '26 RHP/1B Ryder Hockema. The junior out of Newport High School was most recently seen at the Corvallis Preseason ID at Oregon State University this February.

A strong-framed 6'2 prospect, Hockema's showcase was highlighted by a strong bullpen session, flashing a three-pitch mix and a fastball up over 84 MPH. Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including video and scouting reports from the event.
