Updated Class of 2028 Player Rankings (April)

Throughout the winter we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.

With the spring season underway, we take a look at the additions to the Top 10.

Jackson Haefner 3B / RHP / Brother Rice / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 Report: Strong left handed bat with good size present. Profiles ability to spray ball into alley way in right and left center.

Akhil Pilla 1B / RHP / Rochester Adams / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 2 Report: Akhil had a strong showing at our winter preseason all state event coming in with improved physicality and being able to run the fastball into upper 80s.

Owen Hammond 3B / RHP / Midland Dow High School / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 1 Report: Two-way prospect with 6’5 frame and shown ability to hit with some power to pull side. Uphill swing into low 90s exit velocity.

Tristan Spencer 1B / LHP / Woodhaven / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 1 Report: Two-way prospect from Woodhaven with feel to hit at dish and smooth LH stroke. Upside on mound into low 80s.

Josh Leonard SS / 2B / Sterling Heights Stevenson / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 2 Report: LHH middle infielder who presents problems for opposing pitchers with the hit tool. Looking to have consistent spring for Stevenson.
