Mizuno Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 6)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 6 (Mar 24-Mar 30).
MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cooper Kent OF / RHP / BOSQUEVILLE H S, TX / 2026Cooper Kent was unstoppable at the plate in Week 6, earning Hitter of the Week honors with a scorching 11-for-13 performance. He showcased his power early, launching two home runs in the first inning against Rosebud Lott, setting the tone for an explosive week. Kent racked up 8 RBIs, crossed the plate 8 times, and added 4 stolen bases, proving to be a force on the basepaths. His all-around dominance made him an easy choice for this week's top hitter.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Zeke Alexander RHP / Wakeland, TX / 2025The UT Permian Basin commit delivered a dominant performance on the mound in Week 6, earning him Pitcher of the Week honors. Facing district opponent Creekview High School, Alexander was nearly untouchable, throwing a complete-game shutout while racking up 16 strikeouts over 7 innings. His overpowering stuff kept opposing hitters off balance all game, leading his team to victory.
