Prep Baseball All-Americans Shine:

Five 2025 Prep Baseball All-American’s were in attendance at the West Coast Procase with hopes of kickstarting a massive scouting summer. It should come as no surprise that each of them introduced themselves to the onlooking MLB scouts with peak performances.

+ RHP Eli Herst (Seattle Academy, WA), a Vanderbilt recruit, got the start and effortlessly worked 90-92 with plus-command while inducing a handful of in-zone-misses with the pitch likely thanks to an astoundingly low average release height (5.5 ft.) while extending to greater than 7 feet (7.1 ft.). Countering with a quality slider that dropped in for strikes with varying shape at 74-76 (2484 rpm max) and a changeup at 82-83 (1857 rpm), it was the latter that shined as the best weapon. Throwing it to both right and left-handed hitters, it’s late arm side life stood out with swing-and-miss attributes. The movement patterns of the long-limbed 6-foot-6, 207-pound right-hander are easily some of the best in the class as he holds innate confidence in his body awareness moving fluidly with a loose arm stroke that promises much  more velocity to come. The frame is sure to add, and should the breaking ball continue to trend towards an out-pitch, few can ultimately match his upside.
