Uncommitted Spotlight: '26 Garrett Downing

With the spring season quickly approaching, our focus remains on uncommitted prospects in the Classes of 2026 and 2027. As these athletes enter their final years of high school, many talented upperclassmen remain available, some overlooked and others quietly flying under the radar, each searching for the right opportunity to compete at the next level.

The Corner Canyon OF remains one of the top uncommitted players in Utah. A Future Games participant and 2024 West Coast Games attendee, Downing has been near the top of his class for several years. Since 2022, his metrics have steadily improved with each event he attended, and with his last showing at the 2024 West Coast Games, it’s fair to say his numbers are likely even higher than what’s on his profile. Add in his .347 batting average as a junior last year for Corner Canyon, and Downing is surely a name to know heading into the upcoming season.
