The winter schedule has come to a close as players are now beginning to get their season's underway. The 2025 preseason showcase schedule featured the first-ever Hawaii Preseason Invitational which was an eight-team tournament to open up the year that saw all positional players run through a pro-style workout alongside our tech partners, while we also collected updated TrackMan pitching data on all arms during gameplay.

Our staff had eyes on over 100 players and with the season finally here, there is still a ton of quality uncommitted talent still on the board in Hawaii's senior class. Over the next couple weeks, our staff will begin highlighting some of these names who need to be on the radar of college coaches looking to roundout their 2025 class.

We continue our Top Uncommitted Senior Spotlight Series with '25 LHP/OF Laakea Correa of Saint Louis School. Correa has developed well on the mound since we last had him at the Oahu Preseason ID in January of 2024 and he also possesses upside on the positional side as an outfielder and first baseman.

Scouting Report

1/07/24

6-01/180, great frame, future pro body...quality BP driving balls to all fields w/94 Trackman Exit Velo and 23.3 Blast Hand Speed, chance to hit & hit for power...would give him every opportunity to play RF as likely ends up with arm for RF, plus he can run (7.11 60), good athlete with range to run balls down, feel athleticism makes him more valuable in OF and can always end up at 1B.

LHP: 84 FB and throws easy, more in there for sure w/shot at 90+ one day...impressive ++fading action to CHG, starts in vs RHH and ends up down/away, with work CHG could end up a plus swing-n-miss/K-out pitch....good shape to SL, makings of solid out-pitch...lots of upside as LHP with chance for LHS.

Primed for big junior season followed by summer/fall going into senior year where could develop into a quality two-way DI commit.
