Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 SS/RHP Quinn Barron (Delbarton)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

A standout from this summer’s Top Prospect Games at Rutgers University. Barron displayed his athleticism and quick-twitch, fluid movement patterns on offense and defense. At 5 ‘10 and 165-pounds, his build is lean and projectable with room for growth.

Offensively, Barron hits from a tall, even stance and builds rhythm in his hands. He loads his hands into a strong hitting position and drives his barrel through the zone up to 76.9 mph. He can produce exit velocities up to 94.9 mph and he has an average exit velocity of 88.8 mph. He has a repeatable set-up and swing that produces consistent offensive production at a high-level.

Defensively, at shortstop his quick 7.02 sixty-yard dash is very apparent with his effortless lateral movement and fluid fielding actions. His athleticism allows him to get to very difficult plays and his 88-mph arm strength from the infield helps him complete the very difficult plays. A very reliable defender that makes the routine plays and the difficult plays look routine.

Overall, Barron is developing into one of the Garden State’s top baseball players with his natural athleticism and fluidity in the field. Keep an eye out for him.
