The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 4

Porter Murff LHP / 1B / Clarksville, TN / 2026 Porter Murph (Clarksville, 2026) Porter earned 2 wins this week vs. Kirkwood and Fairview (AL) without giving up zero hits in 8.2 innings. He was also part of a combined no hitter vs. Fairview (AL) throwing 5 hitless innings. He would go on to collect 17 K’s in that span to just 4 walks. Tate Murphy (Cumberland Gap, 2025) would finish the week with a .600 batting average with 9 runs scored and 3 RBIs.

Tate Murphy 2B / OF / Cumberland Gap, TN / 2025 Tate Murphy (Cumberland Gap, 2025) would finish the week with a .600 batting average with 9 runs scored and 3 RBIs.

Tyler Early RHP / OF / Powell, TN / 2025 Tyler Early (Powell, 2025) Pitched against a top-ranked Oak Ridge team going 7 innings, giving up only 1 hit. He would also collect 13 K’s to just 3 walks getting the win.

Fisher Green SS / RHP / Halls, TN / 2028 Fisher Green (Halls, 2028) was solid again on the mound going 4 innings, giving up only 3 hits with 7 K’s in the win.

Hudson Burnett OF / RHP / Halls, TN / 2028 Hudson Burnett (Halls, 2028) finished the week with a .889 batting average with 2 doubles, 1 stolen base, 5 runs scored. On the mound, he would throw 2 innings, with 5 K’s without allowing a runner to score.

Stephen Bobo OF / LHP / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2027 Stephen Bobo (Shelbyville, 2027) was a force in the top half of the lineup for the Eagles hitting .647 in 22 plate appearances that included a double, HR and 9 RBI’s. He would also walk 4 times to 0 K’s , while going a perfect 7 for 7 in stolen bases.

DJ Lowery OF / SS / knoxvillecatholic high school, TN / 2027 DJ Lowery (Knox Catholic, 2027) had a great week at the plate for the Irish going 9-16 with a triple, 2 HR’s and 12 RBI’s.

Cole Scraggs C / OF / Knoxville Catholic , TN / 2027 Cole Scraggs (Knox Catholic, 2027) went 10-19 at the plate with 5 doubles and 12 RBI’s.

Casen Youngblood 1B / 3B / Providence Christian Academy, TN / 2025 Casen Youngblood (PCA, 2025) had a strong offensive performance during the week hitting .471 with 2 doubles, 1 triple and 2 HR’s with 8 RBI’s.

Matok Delk SS / PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, TN / 2027 Matok Delk (PCA, 2027) had a strong performance on the mound against Briarcrest that included a complete game shutout. He would finish the week with 7.2 innings of shutout baseball with 4 hits, 6 K’s and 0 runs. His season ERA is at .389. He also hit .421 on the week in the leadoff spot.

Josiah Allen RHP / 1B / Providence Christian Academy, TN / 2026 Josiah Allen (PCA, 2026) went 6.2 innings on the mound giving up only 4 hits, 1 run with 10 K’s. His season ERA is at 2.29

Trey Finch RHP / Providence Christian, TN / 2025 Trey Finch (PCA, 2025) through a complete game shutout giving up 5 hits with 6 K’s. He currently has a 2.85 ERA on the season

Watson Storey RHP / 3B / Beech Sr High School, TN / 2025 Watson Storey (Beech, 2025) threw his 1st No-Hitter of the season going 7 innings with 4 walks to 1 K in a 5-0 win over Mt. Juliet.

Baylan Tuten LHP / OF / Tullahoma , TN / 2025 Baylen Tuten (Tullahoma, 2025) threw his second No-Hitter of the season against Franklin County, where he finished with 13 K’s to just 2 walks.

Easton Sullivan C / Greenfield, TN / 2026 Easton Sullivan (Greenfield, 2026) would finish the week going 5/8 with a 2B, 3B, & HR, 5 RBI’s. On the pitching side he would throw a complete game 1 hitter with 11 K’s.

Will Edwards RHP / 3B / Greenfield School, TN / 2027 Will Edwards (Greenfield, 2027) finished the week going 6/9 with three 2B’s, 5 RBI’s. On the pitching side he would go a complete game, giving up 5 hits with 8 K’s. For the season, he is hitting .435 with 12 RBI’s on the season, while currently sitting at 3-0 with 27 K’s.

Landon Clark 1B / 3B / home school, TN / 2028 Landon Clark (Greenfield, 2025) Clark went 6/9 on the week with a 2B and 3 RBI’s. He is currently batting 0.478 on the season.

Colin Wilbon SS / OF / Lausanne Collegiate, TN / 2025 Colin Wilbon (Lausanne, 2025) would hit .562 going 9 for 16 on the week with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1HR, 8 RBI’s with 9 runs scored. He would also go 3 for 3 vs. CBHS.

Caleb Doty 3B / RHP / Lausanne Collegiate , TN / 2025 Caleb Doty (Lausanne, 2025) went 5 for 9 on the week with 2 doubles, 7 RBI’s. He would also pitch 6 innings vs Munford HS giving up only 1 hit, 2 runs with 11K’s.

Blake Lundy C / 3B / BAYLOR SCHOOL, TN / 2027 Blake Lundy (Baylor, 2027) The sophomore had a phenomenal week going 7-12 with 2 doubles, 4 HR’s and 7 RBI’s.

Rhett Hayes 3B / RHP / Giles County High School, TN / 2027 Rhett Hayes (Giles County, 2027) would bat .500 on the week in 4 games where he went 6-12 that included 2 doubles, 6 runs and 3BB, while also having a stolen base.

Owen Jarrell 3B / RHP / Giles County, TN / 2028 Owen Jarrell (Giles County, 2028) would bat .500 on the week in 4 games where he went 7-14 with 2 doubles, 5 RBI’s, 2 runs with a walk and a stolen base.

Noah Lowry UTILITY / RHP / Munford , TN / 2025 Noah Lowry (Munford, 2025) had a strong week at the dish hitting .538 with 1 double, 1 triple, 1 HR, and 6 RBI’s. On the pitching side,he would throw 1.2 innings striking out 4 and collecting 2 saves.

Brady Schafer SS / RHP / Wilson Central, TN / 2028 Brady Schafer (Wilson Central, 2028) Over 5 Innings, would give up only 4 hits with 1 run while striking out 12 hitters in win over Bellbrook HS (OH).

Ben Kauffman 1B / C / Cannon County, TN / 2025 Ben Kauffman (Cannon County, 2025) finished the week with a .600 average that included 8 RBIs, 6 runs, 4 doubles, and 2 HR’s.

Ryan Mitchell SS / Houston, TN / 2025 Ryan Mitchell (Houston, 2025) The Georgia Tech signee and current number 1 player in the 2025 class participated in 5 games over the week collecting 9 hits that included 2 HR’s, 3 doubles, 1 triple with 7 BB’s. He is hitting .533 on season.

Chandler Day LHP / 1B / Houston, TN / 2025 Chandler Day (Houston, 2025) went 1-0 on Week in a complete game giving up 1 run with 14 strikeouts, allowing only 2 hits with zero walks.

Luke Treece C / 3B / Coalfield, TN / 2025 Luke Treece (Coalfield, 2025) would finish the week going 6-14 with 4 doubles, 1 HR, and 10 RBIs. His double Thursday night broke the state record with his 64th double for his career. He is hitting .464 on the season with a 1.527 OPS, 0 Ks, and 16 RBI’s.

Eli Coleman RHP / 3B / Coalfield, TN / 2029 Eli Coleman (Coalfield, 2029) went 1-0 on the week, scattering 6 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks with 7 K’s in a complete game.

Brajan Chavarria / Kirby High, TN / 2026 Brajan Chavarria (Kriby, 2026) This past week Brajan started in all 4 games, going 8 for 16 from the plate with a .500 batting average, with 7 RBI's, while stealing 9 bases. He would also have 3 doubles and 1 triple. On the mound, he would throw 11 2/3's innings with 20 K's to 4 BB's.

JD Hooks / Elizabethton, TN / 2026 JD Hooks (Elizabethton, 2026) finished the week with a BA - .438 batting average, .591 OBP, 1.466 OPS that included 3 doubles, 2 triples, 5 RBI’s and 9 runs scored. He would also go a perfect 4 for 4 on stolen bases.

Drew Patterson RHP / 2B / Providence Christian Academy, TN / 2028 Drew Patterson (PCA, 2028) went 6 innings on the mound for the week, giving up 3 hits and 0 ER’s and 5 K’s. He currently has an ERA of 2.00.
