2025 KSHSAA Diamond Notes: Week 5

Andy Urban
Regional Supervisor

Each week, KSHSAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Kansas Player of the Week. While we can only pick one, there are always a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition.

Here’s a look at some of the most notable from week five (April 21th-April 28th):

Cru Huenfeld 1B / LHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2025

.500 avg (5-for-10) with 2 2B, 2 HR, and a 1B, 7 RBI, 7 BB and 3 stolen bases - also a IBB with the bases loaded.

The KU commit has easily been one of the top offensive players in the Sunflower State this year.

Michael Winter RHP / 3B / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2025

An error away from a perfect game with 12 punch outs, the Dartmouth continues to make his case for KS player of the year.

Max Hamilton RHP / 3B / Olathe West, KS / 2026

Against a nationally ranked and the No. 2 team out of Oklahoma, Hamilton went all seven allowing just three hits and one run while striking out 11. Held 93 mph into the 9th inning.

Dylan Peuser RHP / 1B / Olathe South, KS / 2025

Complete game shutout against Blue Valley West

7 innings, 2 hits (both infield singles), 0 runs, 1 walk, 6 K's
