Travel Team Spotlight- Mac N Seitz Black 2026'

This week, we take a look at another local team that will be appearing in some upcoming Prep Baseball KC summer tournaments. Mac N Seitz 17u Black was a regular in Prep KC tournaments last summer and has some exciting prospects to follow. Let’s take a look at how they did in some of our tournaments in 2024 and their roster heading into summer 2025.

2024

In 2024, Mac N Seitz Black played in the Prep Baseball KC Slugfest, PBKC Fall Championship Qualifier #1, Midwest Premier Super 16 - Member and Open, Kansas City Program Invite, and Midwest Premier Super 14/18u & PBKC Fall Championship Qualifier #2. They had an overall record of 15-10 in Prep Baseball KC events and an average run differential of 1.522.

Their most successful tournament was the PBKC Fall Championship Qualifier #1, where they went 5-1 and had a run differential of 24.

Pool Play Game 1: In game one, they lost to 24' Risin Baseball - Teel 2026 by a score of 6-1.

Pool Play Game 2: In game two, they beat Missouri Redhawks (Dawson) 10-2. The winning pitcher was Johnson County commit Nolan Bell, who went 5 IP, allowing 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, and 7 Ks. At the plate, they had multi-hit performances from Trip Kratofil and Nick Barecca.

Pool Play Game 3: Mac N Seitz Black beat Rawlings Tigers KC 16u 8-0. Edison Conlon got the win, going 5 IP with 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, and 5 Ks. Wichita State commit Luke Nelson had a 2-homer game, plating four runs.

Heading into bracket play, Mac N Seitz Black earned the 8th seed.

Bracket Game 1: They played the 316 Diamond Kings Select 2026, who were the number 1 seed, and beat them 6-2. Brett Liezert shined both on the mound and at the plate: 6.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, and 9 Ks, earning the win. At the plate, he was 2-3 with 4 RBIs, including a 2-run homer in the 6th.

Semifinal: In the semifinal, they faced 24' Risin Baseball - Teel again and got their revenge, winning 6-5. They scored two runs in the 7th to clinch the victory. Nick Barecca hit a home run in the 6th to tie it, followed by a go-ahead sac fly by Smith Collins.

Championship Game: Riding the momentum of their comeback win, they carried it into the championship, where they beat Competitive Edge Gray 2026 by a score of 8-0. Nolan Bell earned the win, going 6 IP with 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, and 6 Ks. Luke Nelson and Nick Barecca both hit home runs.

Heading into the 2025 summer we are excited to see Mac N Seitz 17u Black registered for 5 tournaments including the Midwest Premier Super 17 - Member and the Kansas City Program Invite. Lets take a look at their roster for the 2025 summer.
