On Monday February 17th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff traveled to Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports in Lockport for the Lockport Preseason ID. This event is perennially one of our biggest on the winter calendar with over 130 prospects in attendance this year, and provides our staff one last look at the talent in the area before their spring seasons begin.

Today, we will continue our post-event process by rolling out the scouting reports for the top overall in attendance from the event. We’ve already released all of the positional reports, found HERE.

TOP OVERALL

1. Josh Ouimette LHP / OF / Carmel Catholic, IL / 2028

Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-9, 185 pounds. Compact, strong frame.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, smooth load and easy effort. Repeatable, fluid swing, possesses bat speed and intent to lift to the pull side at times. 71.2 mph bat speed with 5g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 mph max exit velocity (86.8 avg.); 327-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 87 mph. Long, clean arm action, quickness.
Defense: Athletic mover, fields ball out front, tracks down baseball with confidence and actions. Plays easy and with advanced body control.
