Game 1 Player Notes:

(No. 1) Canyon View HS vs. (No. 5) Cienega HS

Landon Hood, 2025 RHP, Canyon View, Gonzaga commit

Projectable frame at 6'3 190 pounds with clean mechanics and composure on the mound. Sat 87–89 and touched 91 with a firm fastball, showing consistent tempo and strike-throwing ability. Mixed in a slurvy 74–77 breaking ball and a 74–76 changeup with some late fade. Showed maturity in pitch sequencing, especially early, opening with spin to keep hitters off balance. Landon collected 12 K's on the day and profiles as a dependable arm with potential to contribute in a rotation role at the college level.

Mattox Murray, 2028 INF/RHP, Canyon View, Uncommitted

Young athlete with a lean 6'0 160-pound frame and a high compete level. Compact, contact-driven swing with good barrel awareness and the ability to execute under pressure. Came through with a two strike, 2 RBI single up the middle and took second on the throw, showcasing instinctive baserunning. Still maturing physically, but shows signs of becoming a steady contributor with time and development.

Game Recap:

Canyon View defeated Cienega 8-0 thanks to a stellar pitching performance from Landon Hood, who recorded 12 strikeouts in 6.2 scoreless innings. The Jaguars' offense was supported by early runs due to Cienega's errors and key hits, notably a 2 RBI single from Mattox Murray. Canyon View tallied nine hits and four stolen bases, while Hood effectively shut down Cienega's offense with his command and diverse pitches.

Game 2 Player Notes:

(No. 3) Centennial HS vs. (No. 2) Canyon Del Oro HS

Francisco Rivero, 2026 C, Canyon del Oro, Uncommitted

Mobile, high-energy backstop who impacts the game with his defense. Quick feet and a clean transfer led to a timely backpick at first base in the seventh, showing game awareness and feel for timing. Solid catch and throw skill set with accuracy and confidence. Tools fit a steady defensive profile with upside to refine further at the college level.

JT Price, 2025 3B/RHP, Centennial, New Mexico State commit

Strong bodied right-hander who competed efficiently through a 7 inning shutout, striking out 7. Fastball worked 87–90 and touched 91, paired with a 76–78 curveball and firm 79–82 changeup. Worked at a quick tempo and threw with intent, showing pitchability and mound presence. Profiles as a strike-thrower with the potential to carve out a role as a starter or swingman at the next level.

Regen Mazura, 2026 LHP/OF, Canyon del Oro, Uncommitted

Crafty left-hander with feel for a three-pitch mix and strong outing presence. Worked 83–85 and touched 86 with the fastball while leaning on a 73–75 changeup that created swing-and-miss and soft contact. Curveball showed variance at 69–73, occasionally dropping to 66 depending on the count. Shows poise and pitchability with continued room to develop strength and command.

Game Recap:

Centennial defeated Canyon del Oro 1-0 thanks to a strong performance from their lower lineup and pitcher JT Price. Cohen Baack drove in the only run in the second inning. Price pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits and striking out 7. Regen Mazura of Canyon del Oro also pitched well with 9 strikeouts but allowed the decisive run. Centennial's defense was error free. Baack led Centennial with 3 hits, and Williams added 2.
