Tennessee Diamond Notes: Week 6

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance.
Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 6

Dylan Stranak SS / 2B / Madison Academic Magnet High School, TN / 2026Dylan Stranak (2026, Madison Academic) In 4 games this past week, Stranak would hit .727 with 8 hits, including 3 doubles, 1 triple and 1 HR that was a Grand Slam finishing 7 RBI’s, 9 runs scored and 6 stolen bases. For the season, he is hitting .478 with 5 doubles, 4 triples and 1 HR with 17 RBI’s and 25 stolen bases. |

Christian Doty SS / OF / Lausanne Collegiate, TN / 2026Christian Doty (2026, Lausanne) This past week, the Ole Miss recruit went 8 for 12 on the week with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR with 8 RBI’s. He would also draw 6 walks on the week with 5 stolen bases. |

Collin Bland 1B / OF / Houston High School, TN / 2026Collin Bland (2026, Houston) The Vandy recruit finished 5 for 12 on the week with 2 HR’s and 9 RBI’s. For the season, he is hitting .413 with 6 HR’s and 26 RBI’s. |

Canon Day 3B / RHP / Houston High School, TN / 2028Canon Day (2028, Houston) Coming in as a top-10 ranked freshman in the 2028 class, Day would pitch 5 innings on the week in a complete game shutout, giving up only 3 hits, while collecting 7 K’s to 0 walks against Hartselle (AL). On the season he is 3-1 with 26 innings pitched, collecting 27 K’s with a 1.59 ERA. |

Cooper Jones RHP / OF / NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL, TN / 2025Cooper Jones (2026, Oliver Springs) In two games, Jones would collect 4 hits with 4 RBI’s hitting .800 on the week. For the season, he is hitting .512 with 2 doubles, 1 triple with 16 RBI’s and 18 runs scored. |

Josiah Allen RHP / 1B / Providence Christian Academy, TN / 2026Josiah Allen (2026, PCA) The uncommitted junior pitched a 7 inning complete game shutout over Battle Ground Academy where he gave up only 4 hits with 0 runs and 10 K’s. He would also come into close on Saturday for an inning without giving up a run. On the season, he carries an ERA of 2.12 |

Houston Yount OF / LHP / Munford HS, TN / 2027Houston Yount (2027, Munford) In 6 games, Yount would hit .471 with 1 triple, 4 RBI’s with 7 runs scored and 7 stolen bases. He would also pitch 9.2 innings, giving up only 4 hits, 2 earned runs with 10 K’s. For the season he is 4-1 with 33 innings pitched, giving up 14 ER’s with 31 K’s with an ERA of 2.970, while carrying a .361 batting average at the plate with 26 runs scored and 18 stolen bases. |
