Preseason All-State Underclass: Quick Hits, Catchers

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Preseason All-State Underclass Showcase travels to IVSA where this invite-only event that features the top prospects from the 2028 and 2029 grad classes. Every year, the Preseason All-State Showcase highlights the "Who’s Who" of the Georgia baseball landscape. This event is limited and exclusive to the top prospects in Georgia and serves as a springboard as you enter the high school season. Throughout the week we will be pumping out the content from this event.

Today, we take a closer look at the top catcher performers from the event on Saturday . ⤵️
Preseason All-State Underclass Quick Hits- Catchers
Christian Osborne, C/RHP, 2028, Pierce County
Osborne put together a quality showing on both sides of the ball as he has made significant strides in his game over this past year. The Pierce County two-way exudes projection in a wiry, high-waisted 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame. Shows good balance in the LH cut as he creates separation with present bat speed and feel for the barrel alike, and produced a max (94.4) exit velocity. Also posted a 75 C Velo and a 1.90-1.94 pop-time behind the plate. On the mound, Osborne leverages the long-levered frame as he shows aggressive drive down the mound followed by a loose, whippy arm with feel for a 4-pitch mix. Fastball lived 84-86 with ride through the zone and mixed in a cutter at 74-77. Curveball was flipped over at 75-77 and threw a changeup with arm-side fade at 75-77. Osborne brings a high-floor profile with the ability to make an impact in a multitude of ways that will provide immense value to Pierce County’s success in ‘26.

Hudson Bradford, C, ,2029, Woodstock
5-foot-10 158-pounds. Bradford impressed throughout the spring and summer at LakePoint where he always seemed to be on the barrel. He carried that into earning an invite to Junior Future Games and has a chance to have one of the more impactful freshman seasons for this class. On Saturday he kicked things off with a strong round of BP then carried that into defensive work where he landed the top pop time of the event at 1.84. Bradford has some serious tools across his game and will be a name to know know in the '29 class.

Carter Radics, C/OF/RHP, 2029, Wesleyan
The Wesleyan two-way set the tone for the entire weekend with one of the loudest rounds to open the morning on Saturday. Armed with wiry strength in the 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. Shows effortless hand and bat speed with innate barrel feel in an on-plane path. Finished with an average (93.8) and a max (102.0) exit velocities along with a max distance of 353ft. Extremely versatile on defense as he boasts present athleticism throughout with the ability to play multiple positions. Posted an 88 OF velo and looked the part behind the dish as well with a 78 C velo and 1.89-1.92 pop time. On the mound, Radics is an easy mover down the mound and works from a repeatable ¾ slot with real arm speed. Fastball sat 82-85 (T86 MPH) with life through the zone and slider paired well off it with tight break at 78-79. Changeup mixed in at 75-77 as well with tumble. Radics looks poised to get a chance to contribute in a multitude of ways early this season with the Wolves.

Connor Tysver, C, 2028, St. Pius X
Tysver is armed with immense physicality in the box and boasts some of the biggest raw power at the dish in the class. Stands a physical 6-foot-2, 244-pounds with loads of strength throughout real impact in the barrel. Stays extremely simple at the plate with present bat speed through the zone and heaviness in the barrel. Posted an avg. (93.4) and a max (104ft.) to go along with a max distance (381ft.). Quality actions behind the plate as well with a 76 C Velo and a 1.99-2.07 pop time. Tysver brings a full bill of health into ‘26 and will supply the Golden Lions offense with stout hit/power in the middle.

Rylan Long, C, 2029, Mount Paran
Polish immediately jumps out for the Junior Future Games alum and #2 ranked 2028 in the state. Long continued to make a name for himself in the class on Saturday afternoon. There is plenty more to project in a physical, athletic 6-foot-0, 181-pound frame. Good balance in the stride with present barrel feel and creates good length in-zone and excellent use of the entire field. Manufactured a max (95.0) exit velocity. Actions behind the plate stand out as he shows present athleticism with arm strength to match (79 C Velo, 1.89-1.94 pop time). Long boasts high-level defensive flexibility and offers high-floor tools with a real chance of making a day 1 impact for the Eagles.

Santiago Fuenmayor, C, 2028, Duluth
The Duluth backstop boasts present loud tools on both sides of the ball that were evident in a loud way on Saturday. Stands an imposing 6-foot-1, 200-pounds with immense strength throughout as he found the barrel regularly from both sides of the plate. Stays compact through the zone with advanced barrel feel (Max EV: 97.1) backed by plus bat speed (Max 82.8). Defensively, Fuenmayor exhibits present athleticism in the crouch with arm strength alike. Led the event with an 82 C Velo and also posted a 1.88-2.00 pop-time as well. Looks poised to carry a huge role once again this Spring.

North Williams, C/3B, 2028, Ga Premier
5-foot-9, 159 pounds, displayed a mature, well-built frame with a commanding presence behind the plate. Defensively, showed advanced skills with a 77 mph catcher velocity, quick three-quarters slot, and strong, accurate throws. Recorded pop times between 1.88–1.98 with smooth footwork, seamless glove-to-throw transfers, and polished receiving work. At the plate, sets up even-footed and wide with the hands wound far behind the ear, loading with a leg lift and slight bat coil. Exhibits smooth hands and a flat, repeatable bat path, projecting as a high-level, well-rounded player with upside offensively and defensively.

Truitt Stafford, C/RHP, 2028, North Cobb Christian
The athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pound Truitt Stafford from North Cobb Christian showed innate bat-to-ball skills in an all-fields approach on Saturday. Truitt displayed his defensive strengths by having a pop time range of 1.88-1.96 and an advanced arm throwing 79 to second. His quickness was evident and continues to mature in all facets of his game. His easy consistent swing is taking shape. Had an exit velocity of 95.0, and averaged 88.1 for his round. A ton of projection left for Strafford makes him a player to watch in the next few years at North Cobb Christian.

Xavier Rodriguez, C/1B, 2029, Archer
The highly physical 6-foot-0, 211 pound Xavier Rodriguez from Archer showcased his true potential on Saturday with a strong overall performance. A high-tool player capable of making an immediate impact for Archer this spring. Has above-average bat speed, great barrel feel, and is well-connected. Had a strong BP round averaging 92.9 exit velocity, maxing out at 99.4 Defensively behind the plate, he displayed advanced skills for his class with a pop time of 1.85 seconds. Threw 78mph towards second to show off his young strong arm. Rodriguez is a player to watch in the ‘29 class with a ton of projection. Looks ready to go for the spring season.
