16. CJ Gray | RHP | A.L. Brown HS | 2025 | 5th Round Pick of the Los Angeles Angels
Strong armed right hander was a high follow throughout the spring with one of the most electric fastballs in the class. The spring season saw a couple of reports from Prep Baseball Scouts, Gray saw another bump after throwing at the MLB Draft Combine, lighting it up and catching the attention of several former Big Leaguers while on the MLB Network telecast.
17. Ethan Stewart | OF | DH Conley HS | 2028
The No. 1 ranked player in the 2028 class did not waist anytime making a splash in the spring season. Stewart helped to anchor a deep lineup that carried the Vikings to an excellent regular season. Prep Baseball was on hand as Stewart put the exclamation point on a Power 25 matchup vs. Terry Sanford, hitting a walk-off (via the run rule) grand slam.
18. Corbin Spilliards | SS | DW Daniel HS | 2027 -- Wake Forest commit
Spilliards left NC for Daniel HS in SC this school year, but made a big mark while in NC. At Christ School, Spilliards showed high end feel for the bat from both sides of the plate and the potential to stick at SS as he continues to climb levels. Spilliards earned his way to the Future Games, with a standout Preseason All-State Central performance. At the Future Games, he repped Team NC in front of over 400 college coaches.
19. Chace Blackmon | OF | Myers Park HS | 2027
High end athlete catches the eye with a big ceiling. Capitalizing off a good end to the 2024 year, Blackmon earned an invite to the NC/SC Border Battle with his workout at the Preseason All-State Central. Blackmon will continue to garner attention in 2026 as he continues to climb towards his ceiling.
20. Harrison Mears | C/INF | South Brunswick HS | 2027
Mears bookended his year with two high profile workouts that garnered a lot of attention. At the Preseason All-State, Mears solidified himself as a Prospect to Watch. In October, Mears showed continued developement with big numbers in the workout and excellent feel for the game in the live game portion of the Top Prospect Games.
