PROSPECT PULSE (AB): PROJECTION PANEL

Calum Andersen RHP / Vauxhall Academy, AB / 2027

Our first look at Andersen this year came at the Best of the West where grabbed our staff’s attention with a quality outing against a much older Langley Blaze squad, earning him an invitation to North America’s top uncommitted event, the Prep Baseball Future Games. Andersen impressed again at the Future Games with a fluid delivery and free arm; commanding 3 pitches and running the fastball up to 89. Our staff would get 3 more looks at Andersen over the course of the year where he continued to show frontline stuff and assert himself as one of the top 2027 arms in the country. The Vauxhall right-hander is ranked within the top 100 nationally and is seated at number 19 by position. It really feels like Andersen is just scratching the surface of his potential and is a name that college coaches should be all over heading into his junior year.

AJ Rogers RHP / Okotoks, AB / 2026

A member of the Okotoks Dawgs who really stood out to us this year, Rogers checks in at a wiry and projectable 6-foot-8, 185-pounds. The Nova Scotia Native impressed at Dawgs Scout Day with a smooth delivery and feel for four pitches. The right-hander continued to get better in-season, living 88-90, topping out at 91 on several occasions with ride and run characteristics. Rogers capped off his strong 2025 by committing to the University of Houston. If he can put together another strong offseason, we wouldn't be surprised to see Rogers getting pro looks this spring.

Jack Bello OF / RHP / Foothills Composite High School, BC / 2026

Bello impressed in multiple looks during 2025. There is real two-way upside with quality metrics on both sides of the ball. It’s an easy delivery with a high ¾ slot and 3 pitches that he can land for a strike. The arsenal generally works east-west with natural arm-side run on the fastball (84-88) and changeup (79-80) with good vertical separation between the two pitches. We have seen the slider create some very uncomfortable swings in game with an average vertical break of -19.3 inches and spin rates in the 2300-2400 range, via Trackman. On the offensive side, Bello starts with a slightly open stance and pairs that with a small leg lift and aggressive forward move. There is present bat speed and a max exit velocity of 95.6 mph paired with over 350 ft of carry. The hit tool consistently showed up in-game during 2025, working gap-to-gap. We expect to see continued improvement from Bello as he joins a strong Okotoks program with a long history of successful player development.

Will Zielinski 3B / RHP / Vauxhall Academy, AB / 2027

Zielinski provides a unique yet valuable profile that should garner plenty of attention from College coaches. The former West Coast Gamer ran his fastball up to 90 mph this fall with exit velocities and distances reaching 104 mph and 384 ft, respectively. While the secondary stuff is still developing, the raw arm talent grabs your attention and also translates to the positional side where we have seen him excel at third base and the corner outfield. Zielinski possesses above average bat speed and has shown that he can handle velocity with several barrels off of the countries top tier prep arms this year. Also eligible as a 2027, the dynamic two-way is one name that recruiters should check in on this spring.

Jacob Durocher 3B / RHP / David Thompson, AB / 2027

Durocher is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound outfielder out of the St Joes Falcons program. The left-handed hitter is still quite raw mechanically, but features present bat speed and some strength. At the Sylvan Lake Classic this fall, Durocher hit multiple balls north of 95 mph topping out at 100.3. With some adjustments to the operation and increased size and strength, Durocher has a chance to be an impact bat come spring.
