2026 Lindsay Lane Christian Lions Team Preview

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy enters the 2026 season carrying momentum after a 19-17 finish in 2025 that resulted in a Sweet 16 appearance and marked the program’s sixth consecutive playoff berth. The Lions have consistently found ways to compete deep into the postseason, and with a mix of senior leadership and talented underclassmen returning, they head into 2026 focused on sustaining that success in Class 2A Area 16.

The Lions return a group of players who logged meaningful roles a season ago. OF/C Lane Jones (2026) returns as one of the team’s senior leaders, providing experience both in the lineup and behind the plate. RHP/1B Wyatt Wallace (2028) brings back innings on the mound while also factoring in at first base, and RHP/INF Fin Reding (2027) returns as another two-way contributor who adds depth to both the pitching staff and infield. The underclass core includes C Cooper Abernathy (2028), RHP/INF Grayson Miller (2029), and INF Bryson McMullin (2029), all of whom provide versatility and continue to gain varsity experience. Additional depth comes from OF/LHP Lucas Thornton (2029), who returns as an underclass option capable of contributing as the season progresses. Together, this group gives Lindsay Lane flexibility across the field while continuing to develop younger pieces within game situations. Defense and pitching remain the foundation of the Lions’ identity, with offense rounding out the team’s strengths. With another challenging regular-season schedule on tap, Lindsay Lane plans to use those matchups to prepare for postseason play once again.

As head coach Charles Morrison noted, “We are riding a lot of momentum from our 2025 season with great optimism as we enter the 2026 season. We have two senior leaders in Lane Jones and Lincoln Conn, with great talent in our underclassmen that projects for an exciting and competitive season in 2026. We will play a lot of tough and talented teams in the regular season to hopefully prepare us for another playoff run.” With experience, momentum, and continued development, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy enters the 2026 season aiming to extend its postseason streak and compete deep into the spring in Class 2A.
