On Saturday, November 8th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, to host the Texas State Games: Underclass, an invite-only event for the class of 2028 and 2029.

More than 80 players made their way to Sam Houston this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout as well as gameplay, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, while receiving in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every pitcher in attendance as well as rank the top 10 from the event.

TOP PITCHING PROSPECTS

1. Yates Ashley, Katy (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: LHP/LHP LHS Projects well physically. Repeats delivery and arm action. Shows arm speed now, will continue to develop. FB has effective life down, flashed ability to pitch up. Short, late breaking slider, showed feel for pitch. Looks right on the mound, physically will continue to develop. Flashed quality stuff in short outing. LHS...Prospect, watch progress.
Body: 6-3, 205 pounds. Great build/frame, will add strength. Projects well physically.
Delivery: Modified side step rocker, knee lift with inward turn, loads into back leg well. 3rd base side start, cast stride leg out and down slope. Lands just past midline with slightly open toe. Solid finish over front leg.
Arm Action: LH. Full circle, works well. 3/4 slot with crossbody finish. Arm works fine, shows arm speed which will continue to develop.
FB: T90, 87-89 mph. Around zone with FB. Tail, tail/sink action increasing to arm side. Shows ability to elevate FB with success. T2156, 1972 average rpm.
SL: 78-78 mph. Short, quality action. Solid spin, late. Feel for this pitch present. T2379, 2128 average rpm.
