PNW State Games Spotlight - '26 INF Roscoe Mithoefer

Prep Baseball spotlights aim to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. Today, we spotlight '26 INF Roscoe Mithoefer. The physical senior from La Salle Catholic HS was seen multiple times in 2025, including the Corvallis Preseason ID as well as State Games.
Mithoefer delivered his best BP rounds to date this summer, peaking with an exit velocity over 93 MPH while averaging 87 MPH across his whole round. Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including scouting reports and video from previous events.

Hit: RHH. Wide base in stance with balanced lower half. Hands stacked over rear shoulder with barrel quiet and set vertically. No-stride load as weight shifts over rear leg. Hands retract away from frame, with some bat speed through the zone. Strong front side with two-handed finish.

Arm: RH. INF-71 mph. Quick, compact arm action with 3/4 slot throws.
Defense: Deliberate approach on ground balls with little wasted movement. Fields near center of frame and brings ball to belt. Stays low in posture to start.
